Where to get aluminum

Very awesome game devs!

I have researched a ton of pods (keep getting lithium and titanium) and explored quite a bit but have only found one chunk of aluminum. I need more to build a vehicle factory. Does it occur in deposits or do i just need to find and open the random cargo thingies?

You find the ore (its a pink color sorry forgot name) in caves then you have to take it back to your smelter.

To find aluminum you must get the ore called Laterite then you go to your smelter and put the laterite in thus you get ALUMINUM!

Smelt your own.

Lots on the surface of barren, depending on where you land.
look for rock formations on the horizon, laterite, malachite, titanium and a little lithium scattered around.
Compound in the caves near the surface, the deeper you go the more resources you find in the caves.
No storms and fast day/night cycles, solar and batteries work well once you find enough lithium.
bring a bunch of resin along and build a rover, resin can be found but there is not much of it.

typically in the first couple of cave layers on any planet.

random crash sites can also have already made aluminum or laterite as well as some other goodies. sometimes even a free medium storage. so i typically leave a space open for when i find something like that.

Dig down underground in to the first cavern layer. There should be tons of it there. Just look around.
