Is there a trick to mining titanium?

The first planet i visited after the starting planet had titanium crystals but I couldn't mine them. Is this a glitch or do I need to do something different to harvest them?

Sound like a glitch. You don't need anything special to harvest them, just your E gun thing. I mined some off the first moon I made it to. Only thing was they were kind of in/under a big unbreakable block that was basically the same color so for a while I thought it was glitched or I needed something but I ended up digging around and under the unbreakable block to get to it better.

How I have gotten all my titanium so far, is by researching.

Yea these were out in the open with nothing blocking. I didn't stick around as on that planet there were constant spiked balls blowing around trying to kill me .

i have not made a drill or any special tools and have mined titanium

Got same glitch i guess. Did not try out the drill yet, i'm making infinete fuel and trade it for other stuff. Dont need to mine anymore. Just for exploring, i found TNT once on a body. Dont know how to make it. Maybe i dont have researched everything.

Build a truck, Build a crane on your truck, Print the drill head and attach to your crane. Lithium and Titanium needs to be drilled when you find it inside those solid chunks that cannot be sucked up by your tool.

Good to know..I don't know if I will make it back to my capsule on this run but I will definitely do the drill on my next play through.

Works for Lithium as well. You could attach the drill to the front of a truck but it doesn't work to well. :P
