With enough planning, you could do it without taking away your own mean to walk.
That said, right now performance issues will stop you before you ever get there.
If you don't plan it out, you'll end up creating a ton of walk ways in order to reach terrain that you still have to remove. Which would greatly increase the overall time needed to accomplish your goal.
but the amount of time required to mine out an entire planet.. you could spend years.. then get patched and have to start all over again.
Also if you have gamepass, astroneer is free.
Your save-file would bloat to the size of a Sperm Whale and eventually quit loading.
