Alrighty, yeah. There's good reason for that too, though. It's a great game, haha.
Thanks anyway!
A license for a stand alone? I feel like you're suggesting something that requires none of the platforms. Which is unlikely to happen.
I think he meant, a steam purchase would include a windows 10 store redeem key. Kind of like how a ubisoft game on steam, comes with a uplay key to get it installed there too (or sometimes required).
Steam has the ability to supply additional keys on first launch, but I honestly don't think SES should bother doing that. Since the reverse would not be true (windows 10 store wont include an optional steam redeem key).
Sounded like a DRM free way aka GOG to me. haha
I am pretty sure they would not do this. That way you'd basically get the game 2 times. Opens up ways for pesky resellers. We surely don't want to see those.
So yeah, Ubisoft isn't really an example that works here, though. After all the Ubisoft games you purchase on Steam will actually go through UPlay, their own platform (so of course they need to give you a key or let you link the game, which is also an option nowadays). System Era does not have that and getting the game registered in your Steam account means you can play it with nothing but that account.
In the end I must question though: If you wanted to play it through the Windows 10 Store, why didn't you purchase it there to begin with? The choice between the Microsoft Store and Steam is a choice between console/semi-PC and full PC gamer. If you're on the PC all day, clearly go for Steam. If you have a console and play there for the most time, going for the Microsoft Store should be your choice.
Well, that's just my explanation for anyone who has those thoughts. OP was just wondering about that option, not insisting on having it, so don't take it personal.
If someone wants it on multiple platforms (delivery platforms), they should buy it multiple times. Its how Digital Content is these days. Plus, ASTRONEERs is cool enough to pay twice ;)
But I do see your point, Wyvyrias, that it should be labled 'not for resale'... "This is why we cannot have nice things."
We are done with this topic, I won't be responding to it again.
