I don't hate it. Just rather confused about it. I can't figure out how to go forward now. I keep getting nuts that just say "researched:" But nothing is there, doesn't even give a hint at it. Even on this new play, it's like "how do you get the printer table, or the weather vane, or half of it. I'v just popped 16 nuts thru, and nothing. I just got "oxygen", but nothing shows on the backpack.
I made sure that all the nuts I just did, were unique. Lined them up and blam, nadda. So I can't even make a base now. The smelter now is pointless, because you can't build anything with the ore's. I honestly am just confused.
There is a lot about the update I like, but some I don't. Used to be you could raise up on a mound to reach those higher up nuts. Now the terrain tool refuses to make a mound under you.
I'm lost.
I never thought of that. I always dug a hole under it and let the tree fall. Then I'd either push it out of the way or bury it. Try doing a graduated slope.
The printer is a random draw and that's why people don't like it. You become completely stuck if you aren't lucky enough. They changed how many items of one kind can generate research too. So they made it so hard you can't really play beyond running around for stuff to research. But like I said, they are apparently going to fix that somehow.
Ok, now you got me confused. Because I use the W S A D keys to drive, but use the mouse to steer while looking around, while pressing the left Alt key. You must have something off or something. Maybe a conflict with a playstation controller maybe.
Granted the driving is wonkie most of the time. Like if you look behind you while driving, the rover will try to drive backwards, though you haven't changed from W to S. They need to dedicate the W S A D keys to the direction of the seat is facing. Then maybe it would behave better.
But on that note, sometimes you can get some nice jumps going, if you use the look around at the right moment and in the right direction. I'v gotten some nice X-Games type jumps. The grandkids would be proud. LOL
I have the worst time driving in this game. It is completely counter intuitive to the rest of the games I play and in what I think it should be. But I know what you mean about the jumps. It's odd what will send it flying. I use to try and avoid it. Now I just go for it and wait until I'm thrown to flip it back over and keep going. Sometimes I land on the wheels.
Researchables now come from "types of container" ie Cubes, Seeds, Ship Droppods, etc.
If you get a tech from a type, then you'll only get resources from the remaining unsearched containers of that type.
Some are bugged and will give you Researched: and nothing is given. Others will give you a resource.
It's all RNG.
Lastly, further bugs in the system, many items just cannot be made, ie batteries, storage etc. The printer won't list them even though you've researched the items.
And then there's items like powercells and filters which are now given to you as rng items instead of resources. You can also research filters at least, but even after doing so, cannot make them.
Also there's other erroneous unlocks that give something, but don't unlock anything, ie Oxygen.
Thank you for the information. Much of it I had figured out. But it's nice to get it confirmed. I take it that System Era is actually doing something about it. Or I should say, I'm in deep hope of a repair. As I enjoy this game. I just hope they don't over complicate a nice simple game, like others have done. Into some Elder Scrolls type.
As I said earlier devs are trying to fix some of it. How much who knows. From those on experimental it's only having printer an vehicle bay as buildble from start with rover and one seater craftable. Everything else is the same. At least that's what I've found from reading the other numerous threads about this.
Don't know if you've tried the experimental version under betas, but so far they've readded printer and vehicle bay, changed the way the boxes in storms zero in on you, it's not so accurate now.
Not sure what else has been added/changed as theres little to no info. The printer now defaults to making the single veh seat bp and the vehicle bay makes both the buggy and single seat.
It is also of note, that the ship drop pods, seem to carry research items each, only getting a 2nd/3rd etc of the same ship drop, do you get resources, although usually i get filters and or powercells. Also getting alot of powercells on barran/moon.
They have also removed say 80% of the researchables, so on moon the rock stacks which used to be filled, now have maybe one or two. It's the same in forests and not every tree has something, plants are missing items underneath them as well. But like trees, some plants do have stuff under them.. you have to check every single one.
Oh and in experimental, the Red/Green Seeds now drop a unique each. In Main game, it's either or.
It ruined my game because I could make storage no problem in my main game, then I switched to make a large battery and it only went to "1-Seat" and now I can't change it.
BROKEN.
I hope I misunderstand and this is not a typical "German = Nazi" situation. Otherwise I am obligated to feel offended (though I have to remove that post either way).
PS: I removed the post because you were quite unfriendly there. The other part of my message was just me kidding. My "
Though, if you feel troubled by being called "Herr", I shall stick to my "make this a friendly place"-policy and remove the other involved post as well.
Generally I should clean up some off-topic. There's no need to tell people that his is an unfinished game. Let them freely state their concerns.
@OP
How is the research since the last patch (v155 hotfix)? Those things should be slightly better now.
Moderator, Herr is german for SIr. If I was going to do an insult, I sure wouldn't use a nazzeee frase. My family barely escaped those goons. I wouldn't lower myself to using their words.
But I see it doesn't matter that they acted like a moderator, and that I responded as if they were. I'm old, I pick my words carefully, but from time to time some youngster will "read into" what I say so they can get a fight going. That is not my fault.
But you just go ahead and remove my posts. And I'll complain that I'm being targeted for no reason. You'll win, because your a moderator, and I'm just some old woman who games. Everyone else took my post for face value, the one choose not too. Again, not my fault what others do.
I was not acting as a moderator. I am a fellow player just as you are and I was simply responding to your post.
Why do you use a German form of address to me?
Why did you address me as Herr forum moderator?
Why do you feel as if I was behaving like a policeman and what does that have to do with 'Herr'?
Your innuendo was as transparent as your lack of comprehension.
Your post wasn't removed. Mine was, because the actual moderator doesn't understand the meaning of innuendo.
Your family may have escaped those goons and for that you have my sincerest sympathies and consider yourself fortunate.
My family wasn't as fortunate and I resent you using Herr in that way to me!
You are out of order and blaming old age is no excuse.
No one is being targeted, no one is being moderated based on a misunderstanding. I merely want you go continue discussion the issue about the research, if possible give feedbackabout how it is since v155.
Your feedback is well appreciated! It's just the off-topic, especially if based on assumptions, that isn't exactly helpful. So I ask you to please continue with the initial topic.
PS: To avoid any confusion in the future, please always mind that actual moderators have an orange name and/or a silver star next to their name.
