Oil Tycoon achieved!

Got it, along with all the other achievements. Needed to take out a 72K loan to go over a mil in the bank. And I did need to restart a few stock auctions. Game still finishes with 99% stock but gives the achievement anyway. 625 hours total play time. Great game!

I think it counts time if the game is left open and is not played.

To be honest, I have this on most of my games : I launch it and play for a bit then go do something else and come back later.
Congrats tho, I'll have to get back to it at some point.

How do you get that many stocks, since the auctions end when one player gets more than 50%? I'm trying to get the achievements.

You still get to finish the game and play out all the levels. all stocks will be handed out.

When is the best time to take out a loan to hit 1 mil? Right before the last snow level? Or before the bonus level?

Just curious why loan can help here. As I know, the player has to pay back loan and interest after each level, and I tried to hit 1M by loan but nothing happened, which means this achievement may be checked at the start of each year. Is that possible in the current version?

I just got the achievement, with the help of a, uh, $800,000 loan. Finished the last (non-special) level, then took out the loan, then went to the mayor and clicked World Map, and the achievement(s) popped when returning to the town screen (didn't need to play the bonus level).
