Why is this game so bad? i had better hope for the pc-verison, but immedietly let down.

the PS4 verison was so bad, barely playable!

and the most annoying thing right now, the NPC's are so stupid, when you drive fast by them, instead of jumping away from the vehicle, they jump in front of it and only create trouble...

Like every game with driving and pedestrians on sidewalks, when you use a keyboard to steer any side to side movement it will make the pedestrians think you are swerving hard to hit them so they jump the other way. But since you are not continuing to turn, they end up jumping in front of you.

It is easily avoided by not twitching left and right while driving.

Game looks pretty darn good to me.

The game is a mess. I beat it a month or so ago and I doubt I'll ever play it again. I stopped playing it shortly after it came out and gave it another shot in 2023. To my surprise not much changed. I just pushed through. The story missions are great but all the crap you have to do to get to them just isn't worth it. The game had some potential but it is very frustrating to play. At least in my experience. I'll say, the DLC with Donovan is fantastic.

I don't know, I'm kind of in the same boat and I'm surprised so far at how polished the game is tbh. Sure, there are some issues, for example mirrors doesn't seem to work correctly and the pedestrian AI is indeed a bit weird with regularly jumping before traffic (could be there to keep you on your toes though, I mean GTA's NPCA AI is programmed to try to hit you sometimes too) but overall it's fine. My biggest issue was how much TAA blurs the image to the point that it's very hard to appreciate the graphics, thankfully there is a mod to fix that.

As for the gameplay I get the complaints for repetition because what you're doing is obviously very repetitive but I feel that the game's systems let you spice things up. The area design is good too, there are always multiple entry points for different approaches so it's easy to bring variety to your own gameplay (stalking vs. agressive approaches and the mix of them) and when an area is repeated it's easy to avoid doing the same thing over and over again.

And for an open world game there is just very little random nonsense in here. Everything Lincoln does (except for the races I guess) he does for accomplishing his goal, it's not like GTA where you go "okay that heist was fun let's go play tennis", everything serves the narrative and that's great for a Mafia game. Of course I'd rather have something like Mafia 2 that is all story and gameplay with no filler but the filler is not bad here.

And hey some of the district work is pretty fun:
