can't get full screen

just loaded game and it is the top left corner of the screen. how do i make it full screen. help please someone

A simple search of the forum and I found this. I did not do a deep dive since I don't have that problem.

1. Reboot your computer.

2. Open your steam folders and go to where the game is:
..\steamapps\common\Mafia III
Right-click on "Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe" and click 'properties'.
On the 'compatibility' tab, there is a check box for "Disable fullscreen optimizations", click on that then click 'OK'.

3. Could be you need to update your drivers.

4. Could be you have a weird resolution and this CONSOLE PORT cannot handle it.

5. Could be your computer specs are not up to the task where it may play just fine in window mode.

This solution worked for me. On my 3080 based system, the game would always hang using full-screen, and disabling fullscreen optimizations did the trick. I wonder if this would have fixed Mafia I, which I ended up playing in windowed mode. Switching to 2560x1440 also seemed to unlock higher framerates on my 170 Hz GIGABYTE monitor. At 1920x1080 the game was pinned to 60 FPS.
