Mafia 2 had a perfect story and it was a fenomenal game, one of them best experiences i had, i even liked it more then mafia 1.
I think its not Rockstars fault but that other studio called Hangar 13, when mafia 2 was developed they did not even exist if i am correct.
Well there were two 2K Czech studios here in Czech Republic, one in Prague, the other one in Brno. After the release of Mafia 2, the leadership of 2K Games decided to close the one in Prague and lower the number of staff in Brno. They brought some people in to work at Hangar 13, plus had the rest of guys in Brno helping them with the development.
The game director of M3 said, that there were around 30 czech people working on this game, and im not sure, but i think he said that they worked on the cutscenes and driving model.
So sadly theres not much of the 2K Czech left, a lot of the guys that had to leave now work at Warhorse Studios on the game called Kingdom Come: Deliverence (btw led by the game director and writer of Mafia 1). And theres not that many game developers here in Czech Republic so im afraid that even if they wanted to expand the studio, it wouldn't be possible.
