Am I supposed to have sweetFX installed or something first then install reshader ?
not sure whats going on everything goes fine and according to your install instructions right up to the point when it tells me to press shift F2 then nothing happens
Instead of being a internet bully and a usless POS how about you actually do something consctructive or helpful instead of make fun of someone on the internet. If you did that sh!t in the real world you be getting KTFO everyday.

WRITTEN INSTALLATION GUIDE
Click "Download Preset" to get the download link for 5.1.
Version 5.1 Installation instructions The installation steps for version 5.1 are different so please follow the steps closely to ensure success.
1: Click download preset and follow the included link to download the preset.
2: Download Reshade 3.0.1 from http://reshade.me/
3: Open "ReShade_Setup_3.0.1.exe" Click "Select Game" and select your "Mafia 3.exe" - An easy way to find your install directory is to open steam, go to your games list, right click mafia 3, click properties, click the local files tab, click browse local files and you'll be taken to it.
4: Click the button next to "Direct3D 10+" You'll be asked if you want to download shaders - Click YES and let it download. Once it's complete it will say done.
5: Open Mafia 3 and after the shaders have finished loading press SHIFT+F2. Follow the on screen tutorial and make your own preset by pressing the + sign in the top right hand corner. Name it "MY PRESET" and click enter.
6: Once you've made your preset be sure to check a few of the boxes next to the settings below and then click continue followed by finish. It doesn't matter what ones you've ticked as long as you've ticked some. If you don't tick any your preset will have no information and won't be saved. Close Mafia 3
7:Copy "My preset" along with the reshade-shaders folder into your Mafia 3 directory - overwrite when asked.
8: You're done! Open up Mafia 3 and press shift+f2 - if done correctly you'll have 6 effects ticked. Press insert to toggle them off and on.
I followed that step by step , If I hadnt I wouldnt be here asking the damn question.
I didnt get no + sign on the top right hand corner and nothing happened when I pressed SHIFT+F2.

I updated the download with a few adjustments, didn't feel it was neccesary to update the pics etc. Liftgammagain ended up doing damage in some areas so wasn't needed. Nothing to worry about if you've only got 5 ticked.
Are you sure you're installing it to your Mafia 3 root folder where Mafia3.exe is? As soon as you've installed reshade to that location you should have a few messages in the top right hand corner as soon as you open the game.
I can only think you've installed it to the wrong directory.

I do get messages when I open the game but its not on the right its on the left I will take a screen of that as well.

You have reshade 2.03 installed. You didn't follow the instructions of deleting all previous versions before installing 3.03
Delete D3d11.dll, dxgi.dll, reshade.fx and the reshade folder and then reinstall and it'l be fine.
Nothing was preinstalled on my machine I cliked the link provided in your instructions and downladed where it took me , if it installed an ealier version then your link must have been wrong.
I will delete the files and folder and reinstall the proper version.
What keyboard are you using i figured out it was to do with F2 being a media function on my razer black widow chroma so i unbound that as a media function whuich you may or may not be able to do with your keyboard not sure. but if so give that a try man i asked nylix previously if he could bind it to someting other than F2 to fix this issue on keyboards but no response. hope that helps and you can get it installed man it is a game changer.
