Game crashes when I hit "Start"

As we all know, Mafia 3 has this little start up menu like Skyrim, But every time I hit "Start" The game just closes instantly, I've verified game cache, it did nothing. Any advice?

I have the same issue, so do many others. We'll all have to wait for 2K or Hanger 13 to make an announcement, followed by a patch... hopefully.

I have been having the same issue myself, well it goes from stuck in a loop on the loading screen to crashing instantly. I was able to get to the opening cutscene but I tried to skip it. That's where it crashed. x.x They'll figure a fix. I mean, ♥♥♥♥ happens. No reason to get so uppity and whiny about it.

My game also does not load after clicking start on the launcher. It played fine previously and only started to fail today. The patch did not help.

Same problem. This is not limited to Windows 10. I run Win7 SP1.

Indeed, windows 7 ultimate edition is what I'm using.

Okay guys, if you go into the game files and try to run "MafiaIII.exe" It gives me a runtime error, it might for you all too, We probably have to wait for a patch to fix this where we dont get this error but we still have the more than 30FPS.

Not currently, it dosent seem like the issue that the community can fix, Hopefully they release a patch.

UPDATE: Broken fix. Mafia 3 will no longer launch. The “Microsoft Visual C++” was not a permanent fix for me after all.

This is an inconvenience but it fixed the problem for me. The game launches and plays now.

I uninstalled everything that had “Microsoft Visual C++” in the title and reinstalled Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.

Rebooted my computer and the game launched with no problem.

I have the same problem with Mafia 3 on windows 10.
Here are my specs:
GeForce GTX 970
Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
7.88 GB RAM

Game crashes as soon as I press launch, and then nothing happens, I updated my graphics card to the newest version, reinstalled the game still nothing, hopefully there is a fix soon...

I'm not sure if this is the FIX but I got it working again.
Deleted all Microsoft Visual C++
Reinstalled the newest Microsoft Visual C++
Verrified all Mafia 3 files via Steam
Rebooted.... I was able to play. End the game normally. Play again. It launches as it should.
