[BUG] Setting Aim Assist to "Off" is no different from setting it to "Low"
Original post, before testing

For those of us who play with a controller, there's toggleable aim assist, which I appreciate.

However, the developers haven't thought too much about something: if we disable aim assist (that is, set it to "Off". Not "Low", which is another option, but "Off"), it means we want ZERO aim assistance.

So why do I still have a little bit of it when I set it to "Off"? Try it (with a controller): set it to Off (not "Low"), aim at a target and move the crosshairs around. You'll notice that is moves slower when close to a target, and goes back to normal speed when you aim towards nothing in particular.

Believe it or not, this is still aim assist. Please, remove it COMPLETELY when set to OFF.

Conclusion, after testing

Edit: I'm still testing it and I've also noticed my crosshairs are slightly tugged towards the moving enemy I'm aiming at. Please remove it completely, make it full free-aim.

Edit 2: After some testing I realised it is probably not intentional: it's a bug. I came to this conclusion because I tested aim assist on "Off", "Low" and "High", and apparently "Off" is exactly the same as "Low".

Sorry for being so tiresome, but I don't want this bug to be ignored in this weekend's patch =(

So, first update is out and this is still not fixed. Of course, I'm not demanding them anything (I know they need time to fix everything), nor do I want to be tiresome, honestly. I just don't want this bug to go unnoticed, that's all. I think I speak for a lot of people that love playing this kind of games with a controller and absolutely despise aim assistance, especially when it is a bug. So...

Bump again

Sorry to revive such an old thread but it's now 2018 and this ♥♥♥♥ is still not fixed. It's tiresome how slow the aiming gets when you get close to a target, even though you turned off aim assist entirely.

Did the devs willfully ignore this issue, since they were apparently made aware of this?

Oh, boy, were do I start...

Last time I played the game was about 3 months ago, just to see if they had fixed it.

When the game came out, I posted this thread and also submitted a bug report to Hangar 13, detailing it with extreme clarity. I even made a video showcasing the bug and explaining it, and sent it to them. Nothing.

They basically told me that they've "compiled all the information I've sent and forwarded it to the developers. That is were their jobs end and now it is up to the developers when to fix the bug".

So I waited for a few months. Every time the game got a patch, I downloaded it and booted it up to see if the issue had been fixed. But nothing. Every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time.

So I was getting desperate after like 3 months of waiting after I had thoroughly reported the bug and seeing it still was not fixed. So I submitted another bug report, this time in a very angry tone, linking to the previous ticket and demanding an explanation for them taking so long to fix a tiny issue that could easily be fixed in 10 minutes.

But again, they told me that there was nothing more they could do, that their job was simply to forward bug reports to the developers themselves, that they are the ones who decide when and which bugs to patch.

Then I replied to the support staff member asking "Please be sincere with me. Should I bother expecting a fix anymore?". Wanna know what she replied? Verbatim from the e-mail:

Thank you so much for understanding.

I have to underline that we really do not have any information what developers are working on currently and what they have have scheduled for future, so I am not able to say if this glitch is going to be fixed.

Based on general tendencies in the gaming world, the longer since the game release the smaller are the chances for updates addressing issues which are not reported by many players and/or do not gravely impact the gameplay.

However, we always meticulously report bugs and continuously trust glitches will be fixed, and very often they are!"

...

So basically, the bug isn't going to be fixed because although it is a bug that has been accounted for and all that, most players don't even notice it, so why bother? T_T

It's been more than a year and a half from that, and yet nothing. Hangar 13 has lost my respects as a customer. A bug is a bug, and it is keeping me from enjoying a game I purchased. I reported the bug, and it is such a minor one that fixing it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, seriously. And you won't fix it because you can't be bothered to because only I (and probably only two or three more people) took the time to report it?

And don't tell me that fixing a bug takes time and resources, they can't dedicate to your pet issue bla bla bla. Yes they can, it is a bug, they're expected to fix bugs withing their product I paid money for. And the issue itself takes NO TIME to fix, it is nothing!!!!!

So sorry, my friend, but the devs are done with this game. And so am I. I tried playing it regardless, but I just can't stand getting killed because the crosshairs slow down on the worst moment. Having to fight a moving crosshairs to be able to aim properly is not a comfortable way to play for me.

In the end, I just said "screw it" and beat the game with the assistance on (I mean, "off", you know). I wish I could have played without it, but in the end I was able to complete the game without even noticing it at times.
