Motion Blur
Dear mafia 3 players,

Im having some major issues with the motion blur in this game.

Now i know you will say:"You can turn that of in the options!"

Yes you can, and i did disable it.

However for some reason this doesnt seem to do anything for me, the game still has a massive amount of motion blur when turning the camera.. and i cant seem to get it fixed in any way.

Here are some screenshots i made while moving my camera.

Anyone have any idea why this happens? and possibly how to completely disable motion blur, so i wont get sick after 2 minutes of playing?

My specs:
i5 2500K
8gb ddr3
Radeon r9 290X
Running newest hotfix drivers (6 october)

P.s. This has nothing to do with the 30 fps framecap, since a screenshot would still be sharp, even if the framerate is low.

Changing the resolution to the monitors native resolution and turning AA to low fixed it for me.

i already set the game from auto to 1920x1080,
these are my other settings:
Fullscreen: on
Vsync: on
Global quality: custom
Ambient Occlusion: low
Motion Blur: off
Geometry detail: High
Shadow Quality: Medium
Volumetric effects: Medium
Antialiasing: Low

I also tried disabling AA through the AMD control center, but it didnt seem to change anything.

It's not unheard of that games doesn't get rid of motion blur fully even tho it is set to off/0. It might have something to do with this stupid Temporal Antialiasing which blurs everything.

I actually managed to fix the issue for myself!

Im not sure if this fix will work for anyone else, but ill post it here anyway, just so people can try it out if they experience the same issue.

First i went to: C:\Users\X\AppData\Local\2K Games\Mafia III\Data\76561198096427159\profiles\temporaryprofile

(the numbers will most likely be different on your pc, and dont forget to change X to your windows username)

in this folder you will find 8 files one of which is called profile_videosettings.pf

open this file in notepad

In the file look for this line : <m_MotionBlur>true</m_MotionBlur>

and change it to <m_MotionBlur>false</m_MotionBlur>

save the file and boot up the game

The game will give you an error about broken configuration files, and overwrite them.
(this is normal)

Now, in the game go to the graphics options (not in the loader!! Inside the game itself)

there you change motion blur to off, and presto, motion blur permanently disabled!

Hopefully this will help out someone :)
