Mafia III: Definitive Edition

Mafia III: Definitive Edition

Is there graphic/performance patch or fix?
First of all, i owned Mafia 3 before it became definitive edition and really liked the game. Played on medium graphic pre-set and got stable 30-50 fps.
Decided to revisit the game to complete all achievements since they gave dlcs for free, but now i simply can't play it - it either crashes after 5-30 min and constant freezes or i have to play low quality which looks like old runescape:

I played low quality before it became definitive edition and i dont remember such downgrade in graphics. Decided to visit nexusmods or similar sites i could get mods but only have found reshade packs and etc.
Specs:
CPU: I5 6500 3.2 GHz
RAM: 8Gb
Card: Geforce GTX 1070

There are plenty of threads on this and other 2K game forums for disabling their store front launcher, but I will add it below. And yes, the launcher replicates itself in memory causing performance problems. Especially noticeable on slower systems.

With the 2K launcher disabled and the settings changed as I noted above, see if high textures still crashes your game.

From your Steam library, right-click on "Mafia III: Definitive Edition" game, and choose 'properties'.

In the pop-up window, make sure you are on the 'LOCAL FILES' tab. (left side of window)

Click on the button at top right that says "Browse..."

This should open a Windows file explorer window that shows the location of your Mafia 3 game. Click in the address/folder bar and copy the contents.

For example, mine is this:
D:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Mafia III

Now, back to the pop-up window, make sure you are on the 'GENERAL' tab. (left side of window)

on that window, at the bottom is:
LAUNCH OPTIONS Advanced users may choose to enter modifications to their launch options. ( empty text entry box )

In the empty text box you will paste your game file location along with the game executable name. "\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe"
D:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Mafia III\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe

And wrap that in double quotes and add %command% to the end, outside the double quotes.

Like this:
"D:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Mafia III\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe" %command%

Now you can close that window and start the game, and it should bypass the 2K launcher.

If not, verify you entered the correct directory path to your game, that you did not misspell anything, and that you have the double quotes on both sides of the game directory path.

I can only speak for myself and my experience with the game.

I think I have heard the CPU matters more than the GPU. But, what do I know?

Low quality is bad, you should try higher quality and see how it runs.

Some tips I know of for graphics settings:
Turn off Motion Blur and set Anti-Aliasing to low because it blurs everything. Depth of field should be off as well.

Next, disable the 2K launcher, it is a performance hog.

I do use ReShade to increase the color in the game.

Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i9-10900F 10 Cores 5.2 GHz - LGA 1200
RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800)
Video: XFX Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5

Disabled 2K launcher in in-game settings but launcher still pop up like malware and dont see any alternative ways to disable that thing. I noticed that for some reason launcher creates 12 instances of itself, so maybe thats one of the reasons.
As for graphics i have everyting atm at low but game changer is texture quality - if its high then i experience constant crashes, if its low then you see abomination of graphics i posted above.
