Then you need to enter the path to the exe file and I think also put quotation marks around it.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia III\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe" %command%
From your Steam library, right-click on "Mafia III: Definitive Edition" game, and choose 'properties'.
In the pop-up window, make sure you are on the 'LOCAL FILES' tab. (left side of window)
Click on the button at top right that says "Browse..."
This should open a Windows file explorer window that shows the location of your Mafia 3 game. Click in the address/folder bar and copy the contents.
For example, mine is this:
Now, back to the pop-up window, make sure you are on the 'GENERAL' tab. (left side of window)
on that window, at the bottom is:
In the empty text box you will paste your game file location along with the game executable name. "\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe"
And wrap that in double quotes and add %command% to the end, outside the double quotes.
Like this:
Now you can close that window and start the game, and it should bypass the 2K launcher.
If not, verify you entered the correct directory path to your game, that you did not misspell anything, and that you have the double quotes on both sides of the game directory path.
I'll just add that this works for all the Definitive Editions if you get the pathing correct for each one.
But for me - I did find that the Definitive Edition II was opening in a window and whist in the opening sequence if you try Alt+Enter to open in full-screen it locks the screen and I had to reboot the PC.
So...
If you instead allow the game to boot fully then it opens correctly - in which you can then in the options change to full screen and then next time it will boot correctly.
Hope this makes some sense. Basically don't try to enter into full screen while the game is booting. Await until the intro is finished and then change your options. Do nothing whilst game is booting.
No more stuttering, freezing and crashes.
Thanks again!!
Is what why your game is crashing?
When I went to college/university for programming, the first thing we learn is how to break down a problem into the smallest parts. After all, a coder needs to do that when they are telling the computer what to do.
It seems to be a rare art/skill. I am glad it helped your game out performance wise.
hole line is OK and start game wirh luncher. ex.
"E:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Mafia III\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe" %command%
When use % windows say can find game?
