For me it work normally in first version, i though they broke it when they change it into DE.
[I'm assuming that if you received an Achievement in the original game, it wouldn't be available to receive AGAIN when playing the Definitive Edition.]
The Definitive Edition is essentially nothing more than remastering the original game. Sharpening up the graphics for the most part. A FEW new items were added. And some bug fixes WITHOUT the benefit of Alpha- or betatesting to see if the "fixes" didn't introduce new bugs themselves. Those half-dozen or so devs were put on taking care of fixit debugging for awhile, but I'm pretty sure they have been reassigned to other projects by now.
For all practical purposes, the developing company that produced Mafia III no longer exists.
Publishers are the #1 reason that games usually are released with umpty-ump bugs and glitches. The terms of the loan contracts between publisher and developer carry hefty penalties if the game doesn't release on schedule. The reason the publishers are usually inflexible is because they don't get their Return On Investment until the game is actually being sold -- buggy as hell or not. "Finished" games usually don't materialize until sometime after the third or fourth patch/update is released... and that's generally quite a few months after the base game was officially released.
When I play again, I will go for the 'No Loose Ends'. Certainly not in one sitting. lol
I just have to point out, Czechoslovakia got separated in to Czech and Slovak new year's eve 1992-1993.
