The new boss/ no loose ends
Spared every racket boss on my first run and killed all of them on my second. None of the achievements popped-up. Those are the only ones I have left. The achievement should be called 'No 100%, dear Mr. Clay'.

I have The New Boss achievement. Did not try for the other one yet.

These achievements are currently bugged and in order to get you must do them in single run with out closing the game. Otherwise the count for it get's reset. I suggest you use this guide to get them.

Lucky you @WillieSea !!! It´s quite pathetic that they make a Definitive Edition without fixing this error that was already existing in the first version of the game. Devs, devs, devs...

I just checked my Achievements and saw that I got The New Boss Achievement back in 2016. And I can guarantee that it was NOT done by playing the entire game at one go. I just made a practice of sparing ALL informants and racket bosses is that option was available.
[I'm assuming that if you received an Achievement in the original game, it wouldn't be available to receive AGAIN when playing the Definitive Edition.]

Definitive edition and original edition share the same achievements. You don´t have to (can´t) unlock them again. If you received it, that´s it. You were lucky! I wasn´t :S I really don´t know how Hangar 13 can´t fix this...it can´t be that difficult or maybe it ruins the rest of the game´s code LOL

Hanger 13 barely exists anymore. The original staff was broken up and reassign to different studios in Europe. (The main team had been in CA, just north of SF, about 5 miles from where I live.) Most quit to go work with other local companies rather than relocate to Europe. The largest remaining bunch of Hanger 13 devs are no in Czechoslovakia (I believe). And _I think_ there's less than a half-dozen of them.

The Definitive Edition is essentially nothing more than remastering the original game. Sharpening up the graphics for the most part. A FEW new items were added. And some bug fixes WITHOUT the benefit of Alpha- or betatesting to see if the "fixes" didn't introduce new bugs themselves. Those half-dozen or so devs were put on taking care of fixit debugging for awhile, but I'm pretty sure they have been reassigned to other projects by now.

For all practical purposes, the developing company that produced Mafia III no longer exists.

That is possible but they still sell it and 2K delivers it so, call me crazy, but I don´t think they are small enough to forget about their games having a minimum quality. I love Mafia 3, but even 'good' small indie devs fix their games.

2K is a _publisher_; they don't actually make the games. All they do is bankroll the development companies that DO make the games. And as all they really do care about is money, they will gladly sell outright garbage and leave customers scratching their heads when they discover there is no longer anyone fixing broken games.

Publishers are the #1 reason that games usually are released with umpty-ump bugs and glitches. The terms of the loan contracts between publisher and developer carry hefty penalties if the game doesn't release on schedule. The reason the publishers are usually inflexible is because they don't get their Return On Investment until the game is actually being sold -- buggy as hell or not. "Finished" games usually don't materialize until sometime after the third or fourth patch/update is released... and that's generally quite a few months after the base game was officially released.

I Unlocked 'New Boss' on Mar 15, 2019.

When I play again, I will go for the 'No Loose Ends'. Certainly not in one sitting. lol

At $2,000 towards an underboss' Earn, I couldn't bring myself to execute ALL of those lowlifes. (I rationalized that I was leaving that chore to the underboss to execute the racket boss... or not.)

Yeah, I know. The real financial world sucks lol. It´s sad but true. Well, I think I´ll leave it here. Those two achievements will never be in my library. I like achievements but when they are funny to get. Thanks for your tips and explanations.
