OSX fix to start this game.
right click on game properties and where it says launch argument add in " -debug" - don't put the quotation marks. I just added them so you can see there's a space at the beginning.

Not sure why this works but it did for me and the launcher popped up so i could play the game. Why they had to put that rubbish on this game anyway, I don't know, but hopefully this will help other Mac users because all the other solutions i'd seen were for the PC version when the patch broke that too.

I'm on Big Sur, btw. As it's a 64 bit app now, that's not an issue.

The game does not work on Apple silicon. It requires an Intel processor and AMD graphics. See the Mac App Store text:

Yeeeeey, finally i fixed it..!
In the command line you need to put -i -heavy without spaces.
so: -i -heavy

These wont work: %command%, -debug..
But worked: -i -heavy

So it started somehow

- Make sure to check 3 DLC in properties and download all. Otherwise Aspyr launcher will not start
- Now it will start but only with black screen
- Don't allow Mafia III input monitoring if Steam ask, as it will bring Mac to crawl. Disable it in system preferences
- Now change language in properties to something other than English
- Black screen again
- Restart Mac
- Change language back to English
- Voila (or maybe it was just black screen until MacOs finish verifying files)

- It runs really good. For graphics clarity install "Color Grade Overhaul (Not a Reshade)" Mafia 3 mod

Intel Mac, Ventura, AMD card 4Gb VRAM
Setting up your monitor native resolution in videoconfig.cfg (...Application Support/ MafiaIII/ Saves )can also help
For example "0 0 2560 1440 1 0 0 1"
I am using m1 mac and the thing launchs and I click start and it just shuts off

The Apple Rosetta II emulator doesn't work for this game. Only Intel processors with AMD graphics work.
