Can't start game after update?

Updated the game today now it has the 2k launcher to start up and game will not launch even tried to run straight from exe no luck, anyone know a workaround for this?

У меня есть решение, подсмотрел у ребят в соседней ветке по Циве.
Запускаете 2К лаунчер из корня игры (у меня это D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia III\2KLauncher), а после запускаете экзешник, там же (D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia III - для примера).
Игра запустилась.
Отпишитесь, если сработает у вас.

I have a solution, I spied on the guys in the next branch on Civilization.
Launch the 2K launcher from the root of the game (I have it D: \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Mafia III \ 2KLauncher), and then launch the exe-file, in the same place (D: \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Mafia III - for example).
The game has started.

К сожалению, не помогло.

Unfortunately, didn't work for me.

К слову, до этого пробовал и проверку целостности, и игру полностью сносить, даже с сейвами и настройками, ничего не помогает. Видимо, остаётся ждать и надеяться, пока 2к соизволят пофиксить.

I take back what I said about it working fine for me, it launches but I'm getting occasional macro stutter(~1 sec pauses) and the game keeps kicking me to the desktop(mostly during the lockpicking mini-game).

I definitely think I'm done buying 2K games unless they drop this garbage launcher. I'm sure the stutter is either due to excessive data harvesting or buggy DRM.

Обратился в техподдержку 2К, дали автоматический ответ (см. курсив ниже). Не работает.
При этом третья Борда через Эпик летает в обычном режиме (ну, как крокодил из анекдота).

Sent the 2K Support a ticket describing the problem. Auto-generated tip:
Open the File Explorer and select the C: drive
Select Users, then the name of your PC, then the AppData folder (you may need to change your view options to show hidden folders)
Select Local, then the T2GP folder
Delete the contents of the T2GP folder
Restart Steam/Epic and relaunch the desired game
doesn't work.
At the same time, Borderlands 3 in Epic is running as usual.

Нашёл решение в обсуждениях Цивилизации.
Открываете в стиме свойства Мафии 3 и прописываете в параметрах запуска следующее:
- В ковычках расположение .exe файла мафии
- После этого пробел и добавляете %command%
Получиться должно примерно такое:
"C:\(расположение папки стима)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia III\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe" %command%

Found solution in Civilization discussions.

- Under the Genral Tab Click on the button that reads Set Launch Options
- Write the folder location of Mafia 3 between two " "
- At the end of your install location you will add \Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe" %command% (after you close the quotations put a space before the %percentage symbol.)

The completed line of text should appear similiar to this :

"C:\(location of steam folder)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia III\Mafia3DefinitiveEdition.exe" %command%

I have same auto-generated tip... And ofcourse it doesn't work.. So I would like to see what they will write next... I'm thinking about download warez version... It is so annoying.

Anyone else having Resolution issues as well as Frame Rate locked at 30 again? I saw there was an update (for all 3 of the Mafia games) and decided to see what was new. Turns out it is just the 2k Launcher (which doesn't even have anything listed for sale, everything just says "Coming Soon").

Anyway, I went to play and the game started weird, it just had a little square in the middle and two large black squares on the outside of it. So I went to resolution to change it and it looks like they somehow messed up the support for anything beyond 16:9. I have a Samsung G9 32:9 and an older Samsung that is standard 4k 16:9. The game will run as normal on the 16:9 but if I play it on the 32:9 (which worked fine two weeks ago) it not only is squashed and only sometimes shows the correct resolution in the settings after changing them in game, but the frame rate will be fine (either unlimited or locked to 60) for about 2 minutes and then for some reason the game locks the frame rate to 30 and it looks like trash again. I tried turning all the settings down (which shouldn't be a problem anyway on a 2080 Super) and it does the same thing.

I really hope 2k gets their act together and fixes all the things they have broken because if not, I will make a point to never buy anything from the 2k launcher or more than likely a 2k product at all, on any platform.

For some weird reason when I run steam as admin, the game doesn't launch but when I don't, the game starts and works just fine, even with the 2K launcher. IDK if it'll work for others but might be worth a try.

P.S. Ensure that the original steam installation is in the same drive/folder as Mafia 3.
