Mafia III Definitive Edition Won't Be Detected by GeForce Experience
Alright so back in the day Mafia III was listed within my GeForce Experience game-optimization library and my game was perfectly optimized by this program. When the developers introduced Mafia III Definitive Edition, my graphics settings got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up because of their crappy optimization system and the game doesn't show on the GeForce Experience list anymore, therefore I can't have optimal settings and must play in 10 FPS with low graphics. I checked what games GeForce Experience supports and the Mafia III title was there, but it still doesn't appear to my list. My question is if I am the only one who faces this problem, or if there are other people, too.

You're not the first one who said that GeForce Experience doesn't recognize this game.

Do you perhaps have a laptop? And what GPU?

I run on a PC with GTX 960. All my drivers are updated, I can't really understand why I have this issue.

Back in the days I had 960 2GB and this game was unplayable. Something was probably fixed so it should run better than before. Definitely more than 25 FPS. :)

I never use GeForce Experience so not sure how to troubleshoot that, to be honest.

The only one more thing worth mentioning here is that the latest Windows 10 May 2020 Update can corrupt Nvidia drivers and the games are not working properly. This is just guessing cause I don't know your OS.

So if you can reinstall your GPU drivers at least, maybe that can help. That's all I have.

Alright, I'll try to do that, as that would be the only solution I can see so far. Thanks anyway for helping.

GeForce Experience or GeForce Now? I would think it's from GeForce Now.

P.S.
Here is the solution for GeForce Experience. Maybe. But worth trying.

It doesn't work, here are the recommended quality settings from an article on eurogamer by their digital foundry team.

Depth of Field: On
Field of View: 65
V-Sync: On
Ambient Occlusion: High
Motion Blur: On
Geometry: High
Shadow: High
Reflection: Low
Volumetric Effects: Low
Anti-Aliasing: Medium

Anti-aliasing doesn't hit performance much but the taa is so aggressive it makes the game blurry af so I prefer it at low, but that's me.

I used Reshade to override that blur cause I couldn't stand that and the colors in general.

But if you don't want to use Reshade and you own an Nvidia GPU, you can enable Image Sharpening within Nvidia Control Panel. It really helps to reduce the blurriness. (Manage 3D settings > Program Settings > Mafia 3.exe)
For me the best settings were 0.25 for sharpening and 0.17 for film grain.

it also got removed from nvidia drivers, you need to manually add it via nvinspector.

++++++++

Just rename the exe back to mafia3.exe instead of mafiadefinitive.exe .. then let geforce experience scan for games and it will reappear .. worked for me
