Bloom -- on or off`?

I am not sure what exactly bloom does, but its got something to do with lights and luminance right? In mafia 3, having bloom on -- does it improve things or make it worse? Because its lighting is already messed up.

Bloom puts aura around light cast on objects and such. Stick it on imo :)

Turning bloom off made the image a lot clearer. With bloom on i could not even find my way around certain inteririors. This game liighting is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Who was the lead programmer? Even pc version of san andreas has better lighting but i still prefer to play on ps2.
♥♥♥♥♥♥ up lighting is my only problem with this game. It really pisses me off. I dont mind repetetive gameplay at all but it is lighting thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with me.
