Achievements not working

I hadn't played since the Definitive Edition was released, I just came back to finish up some achievements and things. But I noticed none of them are unlocking?

I was aiming on some achievements early in the game and was able to unlock them. Even to kill 30 enemies with proximity mines.

The one that I am not certain of is
"Closed Casket
Performed 50 Brutal Takedowns"
I think I already killed 50 enemies with brutal takedown, but I didn't count precisely. Maybe I should and see does it work or not. For now it's still locked.

I was able to unlock some of them, but quite a few are still bugged as it seems.

I have problem with "No Loose Ends" and "Hole in Your Pocket", wont unlock. Other achievements unlocked, included "Just You and Me", "Spotter", "Danger Close" etc. Didnt count but some "do/kill something X times" felt like needed more than in achievements descriptions. Mafia 3 achievements problems are years old so its sad they didnt fix them with Definitive Edition :/

Agreed, that's also what bothers me so much, it's not a new problem. "No Loose Ends" and "The New Boss" have been issues for a while. "Just You and Me" however unlocked without any problems, just like "Can't Trust a Rat."

Killing/recruiting bosses doesn't work for me either, I did them both now, but everything else worked fine, gonna see if 500k works this time.

Looks like all achievements with some sort of progress bar are broken - their progress not saved on exit. However, you still can unlock some of them in one game session. In long term, 500k earn, informants, racket bosses, loyality of all underbosses are screwed.

Informant one doesn't have to be done in 1 sitting, I just got it and I played the game with multiple restarts from when I started. The only ones I can't get RN are killing/recruiting racket bosses and 500k ones. As for "Family" I just think you have to always give the turf to the person you gave rackets too, so nobody gets mad when you "take" their stuff. You also need to do all quests afaik, I only managed to get 1 person to loyal but that's because I didn't know giving rackets to 1 boss then giving the area to another makes the first one angry.

I misread that about informants, but no it's not broken, both of the achievements worked for me before trying the "fix".

Thats good to know. The 500k earn is definetly bugged - right now I have 600k+ in bank.

Thats good to know. The 500k earn is definetly bugged - right now I have 600k+ in bank.

So I'm guessing the only way to get it is in 1 go, best to do with pot farm, but even then it'll take a while.

I think you are right here on how this works about rackets and districts.

But I can confirm that the Family achievement doesn't work for me. :/
I just completed everything (side missions, even achievements unlocked) for every underboss, gave them 3 districts and the rackets corresponding to the given district.
Which means, if the district belongs to Vito, he owns the rackets in that district as well. But it didn't unlock the achievement.

Soon I'll come to the point of 500k in bank and see will that unlock or not.

That's a shame then, I guess I'll leave family/racket bosses as well as obtain 500k alone for now, I'm not gonna sit through getting 500k in one run, or family/racket boss runs, these are just absurd to do in 1 go.

Nope, the achievement "Baby, You're a Rich Man - Earned $500,000" didn't unlock for me even I did everything in first run and still not finished with it.

I'm starting to think that all grinding achievements are counting from zero after I blocked .exe files in Windows firewall and deleted those 2k cache files.

I'm really tired of this game.

Achievements have to ping steam to get them. If you block the .exe, how is steam going to know the game got the achievement?

That's pointless and completely wrong. Exe files are blocked so that the 2K can't access the files whenever the game is running. That's the reason why the game doesn't create another 2k cache files after you delete them.

Even if that isn't the case, then I wouldn't be able to unlock any other achievement as well. But I can normally unlock them and I did unlock them, like 50 brutal takedowns, 10 x4 slow-mo kills etc.

I have the achievement for 'Family', so I guess it is not so glitched as you say.
