When it was not Definitive Edition, it was running perfectly...
bazookus May 22, 2020 @ 12:50am
got the same issue also happening during the day
Stevensonzilla May 22, 2020 @ 1:33am
Same issue here, night or day. certain textures not loading making most roads and walkways, some buildings, and a few objects completely black.

That is, if the game will even load. Half the time it just crashes when loading or starting a new game.

Very annoying.

For me its the same most streets and walkways are just black. But in buildings it looks ok. I hope they can fix this error fast

I cant even get the bloody thing to launch now, frustrating .
mit May 22, 2020 @ 4:29pm
Well... Sometimes it launches, sometimes crashes. Weird... And beside from roads, I can't see the garage door textures, top of the piers and grasses. They are all pitch black. No matter day or night.

I guess I found a solution for Nvidia video cards.

1. Open Nvidia Control Panel
2. From Manage 3D settings, add Mafia 3: Definitive Edition to the list. It's inside Steam > steamapps > common > Mafia 3
3. Select your primary video card as default for the game.
4. Verify your game cache.
5. Restart your PC (No kidding)
6. Launch Mafia 3.
7. From Launcher set your GPU as your Nvidia video card. Change the graphic options as you like.
8. Make Launcher Disable > ON
9. Start the game.
10. If textures are low or something like that, go to the in game graphic options and change them again as you like.

That works for me. Now I can see all the roads, buildings etc as they should be. I hope it works for you, too. Good luck.

Set the texture quality to high in the in-game options. Solved the issue for me.
