Can't start the race

I have a car sent and then give it some upgrades that are available. Go to where the race starts and I can't get the race to start. At this point why put in racing if you cant start the race.

Check if you're in the right class of vehicle for the race (the valet service should come in handy as it's been re-organized to show these, so you can order a car to suit the race).
Or maybe it's a case of missing command prompts? If the circle you approach shows green, drive into it and press the key you use for 'accept' (on my x360 controller it's 'A')

That is what it was. I wanted to start with exotic but you have to start with sport. Thanks
