Crashes problems should have high priority for them to fix, especially when they are releasing paid DLC's...
i had the exact same issue
first of all this is the only thread about this i found in here and the mafia 3 forum so i dont know what luke jolie is talking about... anyway
i then been looking for similar problems and freezes during other missions and found a thread in which was suggested to look down to the ground during the time the freeze occured
it sounded stupid but i gave it a shot anyway
i looked down to the ground (to see the roof of the car) shortly before the bridge you have to drive under and voila the game didnt freeze i took the right turn and before you have to go left again i watched back where i was going and completed the mission
like is said it sounds unbelievable but you might give that a try too

EDIT: I found that if you cap the FPS at 60 the game doesn't crash. This can be done in the graphics settings.
