Co-op Food availability???

Firstly i know its a survival game and its a great one, but my issue is that when im playing local coop with the gf we are usually running at about 1%-15% food (drink is fine usually 35-50) and cant seem to find enough food to last us a few missions.

is this normal for everyone especially the local coop players out there? if its the case is there any ways of farming food or has anyone got good food spots.

ive checked the option settings and theres nothing to decrease the difficulty in terms of the survival aspect as we only play casualy. would love to see some slider options for item loot added to help out casual gamers.

Water shouldn't be too hard, just talk to the starting, microphone thing,
run a quick mission to get the two blackberries and killing a few infected.
Kill the two or three rabbits with bows for meat.

Return from mission, enter Kovac's bunker, get the free Bottle of Water.

Stock them up easily.


Craft for higher tier foodstuff which would giver longer durations in kitchen.



Spawns are just there basically for one person, since you constantly having to share the resources being on the same zone/map, could only work double hard.


Canned food, orange juice and soda does come very often if you do more Town related missions.

After lvl 10 there is no 'survival' aspect anymore imo, so much abundance

Each can of canned meat or canned peas gives 10℅ food. If you combine them in lvl 4 kitchen it gives you 75%. Haven't had a problem with food in a while.
Even if you don't have the kitchen lvl, you can go to a higher tier camp of someone else, cook the food, then leave.
There are two houses on the main map that give lots of food. One to the north and one to the west of the game starting position. In one of them, one time I found 3 cans of meat and 3 chocolate bars. No shortage of food there xD. Even if you are two people.
Each time you come from a mission or reenter the game, the food will be there again.
As for water you can usually find one in the bunker and it gives you 50%. There are combinations you can do that use one bottle and something else (cant remember now) that will give 100% water.
Lastly, if you make a hot cocoa (I think its 3 chocolate bars and a water?), it gives 50% of each.

A quick and easy early game tip i can give is heading for a house located near the prison, in the right/central region of the map... There you can find a kitchen inside the house with 2 or 3 cans of food. Pretty easy farm. Later on, the game will get easier on this aspect so.... No worries. Hope it helps =)
