I prefer the first one over this one.
For me the game should have variety at least in some way - first one has variety in form of quests, storyline and some unique weapons.
Second one lacks this kind of variety but alas does not bring anything specific to compensate it =( If it's focused on grinding than I would expect a huge variety of skills, buildings and interesting equipment maybe with some strategy to it (like sending survivors you have recruited on missions and getting in the end a HTS2 with some of the Rebuild charm to it)

I liked the islands, i liked the pace, and most of all i loved Kovac.
He seems a little flat in this one, like he is just punching the clock, he even seems out of place.
I also miss making tire armour and putting bones on it, and also the 3 pointed star boomerang of death .
helmet of deer of mass destruction
iron axe
ultra hyper super bow of carbon fiber
and the loved shotgun
armor of crocodile, armor of iron, armor of grass
the chainsaw double capacity
flamwthrower :)
