Defense blocking power

Hi, curious what is 'Defense Blocking Power' in some of the armor like the Field Ranger set? I have heard various claims such as blocking attacks to reducing chance of being knocked down. Can anyone clarify?

There's a Damage Reduction -2%, and then there's Defense Blocking Power +30%. They appear as two different traits. Anyone has any idea?

Blocking Power is the Knockdown Resistance.

It's very useful against things that rush you and knock you down (gators, night crawlers, etc.), the higher blocking power is the better. Getting knocked down in this game sucks, especially if you're playing solo, because if you get swarmed by infected while your knocked down you're basically f*ed.
