And there's a game called Overwhored which is a parody of the game Overlord and supposedly you play as the original Overlord in another dimension or some ♥♥♥♥ I don't know but it's got a ton of content. It also has some questionable scenes in it though.
And then there's Harem Collector, which is basically about a guy who Idolizes Rance from Sengoku Rance and wants to be just like him someday. It too has questionable content, but there's a lot of interesting stuff there.
I could go on but the general gist of what I'm saying is that I have seen that side of RPG maker and I can't unsee it so all these games just can never feel the same again.
Because I saw this and was like "I've been there before".
So ? They all are RPG maker games, you just pick something you like and stick with it.
I like games that go trough Aldorlea games, it's like watching good cartoon or anime, same consept, always something different.
I am just interested what kind of different stuff people come up using near same tools, but that's just what I like.
Also you forget opala maker had donation page up at one point,I think he got like 20k ( can be wrong) that's more most rpg makers make off their games.
I never said no one should pay for them, I'm just saying I've been there before and can never see these games the same way again after that. Play an adult RPG and see if you can ever look at RPG maker games that use engine stock assets the same way again.
Both Queen Opala and the sequel are great games, I feel that they don't need separate mentions, but QO 2 is probably the best. That game, oh my god, that game.
No I didn't. Asking for donations for something you're providing for free is totally cool by me, that's how I think mods should be supported if they're going to be monetized, as opposed to the paid mods crap Steam and Bethesda tried to force on us.
Heck, I know magazines that cost more than most rpg maker games that last 30-80 hours.
I know new mad max movie in 3d was more expensive to watch than this game, least for me :D
So it's really up to what you personally are willing to pay for.
I count Euro per hour of entertainment Index, using cinema movies and comic books and manga as counter point :P
And don't even get me started on the prices, some rpg maker games are way better than most golden 16 bit era rpg's, and those could cost ( if they were overseas imports) 450-700 of our old money unit that would be now day about ... 55-110 Euros per GAME.
No one would pay that much for new 16 bit style game these days, hell they wouldn't pay that to AAA rpg, yet we did back then.
So ♥♥♥♥ 10 e, it's nothing.
As for the assets ? yes it gets familiar specially music.
But I see it like this : it's bit like seeing pack of creative kids with same lego pile, it's fun to see what kind of stuff they can bring up with them, all use same blocks but none is exactly same.
It's just impossible to view the games in the same way again after the adult ones haha. It's like watching an adult anime parody before seeing the actual anime.
Just try reading k-18 visual novel and then watching the anime version of it, you just can't look it same :D
Edit : For those thinking we are perverts, seriously, some of the Adult novels out there are truly on top of the story writing available out there. ( talking about Visual novels not queen opala by the way).
Just try something like : G Senjō no Maō , one of the few games that actually made me cry and I count myself to be nearly emotionless bastard.
People have noticed lot more sex in games, witcher 3 is great example of this and the series in overal, it has been slowly creeping in to the genre of rpgs.
The reason for this is that all of us little kiddies that grew up playing cute fantasy rpg's with small romance and little flirting are now adults and there is massive audience of people that just want a damn story where people actually get somewhere other than winking each other or doing awkward j-teen flirting, heck they are even adding this to comics, I mean new 52 cat woman comic had sex scene with batman on first episode.
It even has come to steam you see all ages versions of really well written visual novels coming to steam, most of them you can patch for adult versions ( and I suspect reason people want all ages steam version is so they can claim they just read them for story, half true we all know that).
It tells how word is changing how audiences want more maturity to games.
I suspect adult games with sexual content become more accepted in coming years besides the horror and splatter or crime games like gta series. As they often handle more serious themes than the so called adult games we have now . Humanity is coming to be more open about their inner demons, we have been like that for thousands of years, only now we are starting to accept what we are : sex and emotional story /wrecking/agony/pain/slaughter loving maniacs.
But this is off topic, I just wanted that out of my head, it's not related to Vagrant hearts 2 so my apologies.
I personally intend to start playing this game as soon as I have time ^^
But most of us also grew up watching cartoons, that hasn't stopped Adult Swim and Netflix and the Anime Industry in general from offering up animation that isn't suitable for children. We have an age ranking system for a reason.
