Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Frame drops to 60 or 40fps randomly - Only since Y10
Hey guys,

since Y10 I have random and sudden drops in FPS.
My FPS drop from 120-140 to 60 and then shortly after to 30-40.

This happens only when Im spawned in and most often right as I spawn in.
It can happen on the first round of the game or any round after and then gets locked there during the entire game.

In between rounds, during OP picks, the FPS goes to 400fps but as soon as we spawn, it dips back to either 60 or 40fps, sometimes as low as 30fps.

The issue only started happening since the Y10 patch dropped.

So far I've tried:

- Rebooting
- Updating my graphics drivers (clean install)
- Resetting my graphics settings
- Trying all different graphics settings than what I usually play on
- Updating Windows
- Checking for Hardware issues
- Checking temps.

My Hardware:
RTX3080
AMD 5060x
32GB 3400MHz RAM
Samsung NVME SSD

Siege is the only game Im having these issues with and have never seen these problems before.

Thanks for the help!

I mean there's definitely lower frame rates outside right when you spawn in. You should probably test it on most maps and make sure it's not specific maps, because there were graphic overhauls to some maps, specifically outside. Like on theme park, there's all of these distant geographical features added. Is it all maps?

The only graphics settings that would knock down your frame rate by anything considerable is anti-aliasing. Make sure that's not on "T-AA". You can definitely cut your frame rate in half running T-AA.

The last update destroyed this game for many AMD users it would seem. I have the exact same issue. The first round I'm full fps, second round I drop to 30-40. It has nothing to do with your computer or the settings. They simply ruined it with this update like they always so anyway. 10 years and nothing learned.

No. It has nothing to do with settings or hardware. The game simply doesn't work properly after the last update. The issue is simple, first round you get full fps, second round everything drops to 30-40 fps max. Only a faulty game can be the source of such an issue. Thousands of us have this problem now but as of yet, Ubi hasn't replied or offered any solution.

I am having the exact same problem except my original FPS was 240-250 and now I'm lucky if I get 60FPS! Now it drops to as low as 12FPS with the avgerage FPS being 30-40! How do I fix this? This game is now unplayable for me and it all happened after the newest update where Rauora was introduced.

It happens on all maps and TAA is off as the FPS drop is not worth it to me.
We aren't talking about a minor FPS drop, we are taking about basically unplayable FPS drop that can't be explained due to usual circumstance

Hi all! I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these frame rate issues. Could you please try the following:
  • Ensure you have Ubisoft Connect[ubi.li] installed and updated
  • Ensure that R6 Siege, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect are all installed on the same SSD (rather than a HDD)
  • Ensure you're running the game on a dedicated GPU[ubi.li] rather than an integrated GPU
  • Add Ubisoft Connect and the game to your anti-virus/firewall whitelist
  • Try any of these troubleshooting steps[ubi.li] you haven't already tried.
If the issue persists even after trying all of these steps, I'd recommend posting your issue on our official Discord Server[discord.com] so our team can investigate further. Thank you!
