I'm not sure if this will help but try going to:
C:\Users\CurrentUser\Documents\My Games\Rainbow Six - Siege\UplayID
Go to GameSettings.ini
Go to Audio
Change "VoiceChatCaptureMode=" to a 1 on the variable.
This is something that has fixed voice chat issues for others in the past, so maybe it will also help out with your issue with sound quality.

Hey, thanks for you reply.
no this hasn't sorted out my problem but i appreciate the help :D
Hey there,
It sounds like some sort of software or OS adjustment is happening in the background. Do you have any drivers or specific software installed for the headset/mic you're using, there could perhaps be a setting enabled that shouldn't be? I experienced a similar issue personally because my bluetooth headphones were activating some sort of voice call mode whenever I had a game open and it sounds similar to what you're experiencing, I had to go into the windows device settings and force disable that specific thing from activating.
If possible if you're unable to resolve this and can capture this could you send us a link to a short video clip demonstrating what's happening please?
Thanks,

Hey,
I've found out my issue,
whether this is the true cause or not, i'm not sure, all i know is that my problem is solved haha.
I'm not using a headset with gaming as its main purpose so when i have my microphone enabled it changes the audio to mono automatically. luckily i have a camera with a decent microphone, so I've set that as my active mic in the windows setting and the audio works fine.
just explaining in case anyone else has this issue and can hopefully use this as a work around.
thank you for your response though.
That's excellent news and thanks for returning to the thread to let us know. I've flagged your post as the topic answer just in case anyone else stumbles upon the thread experiencing similar issues.
Thanks!
