Lag spikes
Whenever playing R6 I get random lag spikes that freeze my screen for like 0.5 seconds and its quite unbearable to play. Is there any fix to this or is it my hardware problem? Beacause Ive been playing this game for like 4 years and not once I had this issue with the same PC

What kind of freeze? Freeze app or entire system?
If freeze app, just the application. The problem might be your integrity file. But freeze entire system, the problem can be your integrity file or your hardware. I don't know it just me or like that, some of Intel proc limit the CPU for gaming, because of that we're hooked to overclocked it, and make some file on proc file not working properly

Hard to guess but let's consider few things:
if it is a hardware issue then most likely it is related to how clean your pc is or game is hitting ram or vram limit. Clean your pc off dust and replace thermal paste on cpu and gpu. How much ram and vram do you have? Please list your pc specification.

If that's software side of problems here is general cleanup guide:
1. Download and install malwarebytes antimalware free edition and scan your pc with it.
2. Go to control panel/programs and features, uninstall all programs you do not use.
3. Remove files and folders from temp and prefetch folders in C:/Windows and C:/users/$username$/appdata/local and C:/users/$username$/appdata/roaming .
4. Reboot your pc when you are done with these steps and try to launch the game.
5. Update your gpu driver to latest available version. During installation select custom installation and use "perform clean install"/"Restore factory settings" option.

What I found out more its more of a fps drop, I get a stable 120 fps then it randomly drops to 80-100 and my screen freezes for those 0.3-0.5 seconds, the CPU is not overloading, nor is it overheating, I cleaned out my PC and replaced the thermal paste and still nothing
bruh, 80 - 100 is still legit for 120Hz monitor except the fps dropped below 60, so there's something wrong. But if freezing, some app using your GPU cores for working? In my friend case, his GTX 1050Ti gone wrong after 3 years, and trying to fix it and fell into make the GPU broken. So things you can do right now is checking is your GPU ok or nah
FPS game like Rainbow Six Siege likely use more GPU than CPU, game that will use more CPU is like computing or mathematics calculation like osu!, Valorant, and CS:GO

So what I noticed more is that whenever playing siege, at that spesific moment when the fps drop starts the GPU's usage is 100% The moment the GPU ussage hits 100% the fps drop starts and freezes my screen

The usual GPU ussage is 50-90% whenever playing siege. When im just using chrome or watching videos around 1-10%

Fortron PSUs are fairly cheap and decent psus. This one has 80+ certification and definitely is more than capable for your pc so that's not a problem.

So I did an experiment, where I switched to my brothers GPU as he has the exact same, and it has the same issue, sooo the GPU cannot be at fault here, its temperatures, usages, performances are exactly the same.

GPU driver and/or game settings. Try to use older driver, for example from september.

But why would the drivers matter? its not a GPU issue

So heres the things Ive tried so far:

Cleaning out my pc (air compressor lmao)
Replacing the thermal paste on my CPU and GPU
Reinstalling Siege and Ubisoft connect
Freed up a lot of memory
Done many anti virus checks
Exchanged GPU's with a different one but same model
Setting my power usage on Performance mode
Adjusting siege graphic settings
Watched a lot of videos on bugs and fixes and did most of them
Updated all of my drivers
Uninstalled all of the programs I dont use
Deleted the stuff in the Temp folder
And some things more

Guess the only thing left is to Reinstall windows again ?
And if that dont help?

For the same reason why we update drivers. Try older driver and see if there is any difference.

Sometimes some things may brake with one driver release and nobody reports them so gpu manufacturer is not aware of a problem and is not aware there is something to fix and such problem persists with all future driver releases. Unless someone finally reports it.

Close all background processes possible, especially hardware control panels, discord, teamspeak and other messengers, rgb crap and so on. Have opened only steam, uplay and game.

Ive installed an older driver from september 2020, and still no dice

Hey guys,

Sorry to hear you've encountering these lag and hardware usage issues

As part of your steps in changing the in-game settings, did you yet try enabling / disabling v-sync or locking your FPS to 120 / 60 to see if there are any changes with that?
