Thanks for reaching out SneezX, although I'm afraid I don't quite understand your query.

Are you have any issues launching or playing the game?

Or are you just querying this file?

I've the same "issue". A few days ago, rainbowsix.exe chose to go on appdata folder. The game is instelled in another ssd (d:) as usual for my setup.

It's really a strange issue. I tryied to uninstall, but sometimes the game create this folder: C:\Users\*USER*\AppData\Local\Ubisoft\r6siege\Y7S4.1_XXXXXXXX_XXXXXXXX_XXXXXX_XXXXXXXX\XXXXXXXXXX

with 2 files in it:
rainbowsix.exe
version (without any extension)

If I delete this folder, the game create it again on start.
Sometimes, because usually it's fine in his location.

Many thanks.

Windows security alert even poped up with "Windows defender Firewall has blocked some features of this app" and then there is the same path as mentioned before for that. It does look really sketchy.

Hello everyone, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

It is not unheard of for some our games to store files in the Appdata, Local or Roaming file, they can often contain game save data, profile data, or configuration data.

Occasionally some of these files may get blocked by your ant-virus o Windows Defender software, more often after a game update, so please make sure to whitelist these files and programs, so they can continue to launch the game, connect online and sync your progress as usual, thank you for your query on this location.

Hey KAYODE,

Microsoft have a guide on whitelisting programs available here[support.microsoft.com].

Let us know if you have any additional questions!

I also have the same issue. Amd Adrenalin sees the appdata version as the game im playing and i cant cant tune the gpu to the exe as the tuning doesnt apply to the appdata exe. It doesnt surprise me that siege has such a ridiculous issue after 7+ years. and the Ubi Support in this thread comes with such generic responses that obviously doesnt provide anything useful to this discussion, he may as well just have said "have you tried turning it off and on again".
