Audio Bug // No Ambient Noise
I have been having this weird audio bug where I basically have NO ambient noise, after every gun shot, foot step, reload, the audio instantly fades out.
Reached out to Ubisoft support on Twitter and they were zero help (ofc) so now I'm here hoping someone knows how to fix this.
I've updated drivers, windows, verified game files, moved the game from one SSD to another and NOTHING has helped.

Thankfully, I found a fix.
Switching the game from one SSD to another seems to be the fix.

Hey GibbertGibbertson,

Sorry to hear it you experience issues with audio in Rainbow Six Siege.
Is the audio correct on in other games?

Have you changed the standard bit rate and sampling rate in Windows audio settings?
Check if you are not using the max settings of 24 bits (or even 32) 192KHz. Some games do not work well with such settings. Change it to 16bit / 44 kHz for a test.

How is your audio connection set up?
If it is a motherboard integrated audio codec, check for driver updates on the manufacturer website.

In Windows 10/11:
open the start menu,
type "Sound" and open Sound Settings,
on the right hand side you will see Sound Control Panel link, open it,
Double click the active (the green tick) audio device,
Click Advanced tab and you will see a drop down menu with available audio formats (bit depth and sampling rate).

To troubleshoot audio issues, always change the format to 16 bit / 44 kHz, as this is the most common and highly compatible audio format - CD quality.

If the issue is resolved, you can try to increase the audio format parameters.
Keep in mind, unless you have a very good audio setup, it will probably not make any difference in perceived audio quality, however.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
