why do I have a different server in the menu and the ping is lower, but in the game there is a completely different server and a big ping?

You will be connected to whichever 3 servers have the best ping for your location.

Have you ever altered your gamesettings.ini file to change which datacentre you are connected to?

Does this happen often in your matches? If we ever have any degradation on a particular server, you may be swapped to another mid-game.

Yes, I put Asia and Japan in the config. always connects me only to those servers where I have a huge ping, and specifically in Europe. I want to play on the servers of South Korea, that's where I have the best ping. How can I change the server already in the game?

If you would like to change your data centre to another location such as Asia and Japan, please follow our guide > https://ubi.li/5aG7a

Please note, if you are currently connected to a Gamelift type of server, you will be unable to change your datacentre, only players connected to our Playfab servers are able to change their datacentre currently.

This is why the game may not be connecting you to the Asia East / Asia South East / Japan East servers, if these are classed as Gamelift servers in your gamesettings.ini file.

well, I found a solution, I use a paid vpn to lower the ping and connect to the servers I need. but still would like to know what is gamelift? and how to remove it?

Hey!

Gamelift refers to a different server platform than playfab.

At this time, it isn't possible to force the game to connect to playfab instead of gamelift, or remove gamelift connections.
