BattlEye "bad service version" error - help?
Hi. I've been having this problem since installing Crimson Heist. I've requested help through Ubisoft support and to my friends who work in IT. Nobody knows what is going on.

My game kicks me from online matches due to a "BattleEye bad service version" error. Error code 2-0x00019008. I've looked the code up online and can find no fixes for it.

So far I have:

- uninstalled and re-installed the game twice
- verified integrity of game files twice
- deleted my BattlEye folder in C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/BattlEye and forced the game to re-install it multiple times
- had a friend send me his BattlEye folder so I could try his version
- updated Windows
- updated my GPU drivers
- updated a lot of Windows C++ Redistributable packages from the Microsoft website, per Ubisoft Support's recommendation
- creating a shortcut of the game with "Run as administrator" checked
- re-installing Ubisoft Connect
- closing out of all other programs while the game is open
- setting my BEService.exe executable to run automatically on Windows startup
- changing my game's install directory to a different SSD

EDIT: Every time I'm kicked by BattlEye, my game freezes and cannot be shut down through Task Manager. I have to restart my PC or lock/sign in every time to get the task to close.

All of this has resulted in my game working for one day before kicking me from every match I join. Casual or unranked, it doesn't matter. And every time I attempt to reconnect to matches, I get a server error and must take an abandon penalty.

I am at my wit's end. I don't understand what is causing this error. All I did was install the Crimson Heist patch on launch day. I have never had issues with BattlEye until now. If anybody is aware of what might be causing this, please let me know. I don't know if this is something I can fix unless Ubisoft releases a patch for it or something. Thanks.

I'm sorry to see you're having issues!

May we please know if you've also yet attempted any of the extensive troubleshooting steps listed by Caliber Jake above?

In many cases, reinstalling BattlEye (by deleting it's file and verifying or reinstalling the game) tends to resolve these errors.

I did try to re-install battleye after deleting files, verify R6 files ( which also re-install battleye) , reinstall R6 completly, reinstall steam, and reinstall uplay
are you talking about the connectivity troubleshooting and port forwarding? it can't be from the internet cause I tried using 3 different internets, and also, my friend is playing using the same rooter as me. if its not about connectivity, please tell me what troubleshooting I should do?

Hey there folks.

If you're still experiencing issues with BattlEye errors please try the following:

o Use newest version of BattlEye -> Reinstalling the game will reinstall the latest version of BattlEye
o Whitelist BEService.exe, BEService_r6s.exe and BEService64.exe in firewall -> Files are located inside the BattlEye folder in the R6 installation folder and in this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye
o Make sure BEService64.exe has admin rights[support.ubi.com]
o Clean boot up and deactivate background application.[www.ubisoft.com]
o Reinstall the entire game.
o Search for windows updates and make sure your system is up to date.

If after doing so you're still experiencing issues please open a support case with us so we can offer further assistance.

You can reach us either through the support website[support.ubi.com] by opening a live chat session or alternatively through our social media accounts on Facebook[en-gb.facebook.com] and Twitter and they will be able to create a support case for you.

After you've opened the case if I can also ask you to attach two system reports to the case that will assist us in identifying any potential cause. The reports we need from you are:

DxDiag[support.ubisoft.com]

Hey! Any update on the issue? Started having this exact problem a few weeks ago. I play 2-3 games and it kicks me out for the same reason and I get banned for 2 days! The game Is unplayable. If you managed to fix it, please i need your help as i tried everything and nothing works.

Happens every match. I'll be lucky enough to get one game in without having this issue.

Have you found a fix yet? I have been losing my mind talking to Ubisoft support through a support ticket but they take ages to respond and give me a generic response that i've tried already. Literally the same exact scenarios that you have mentioned, I've done everything in the books and i'm still so frustrated and am left to play quick plays so I'm not penalized for this error!

Any fix? My friends having this same issue and he’s tried reinstalling everything at least twice. Still gets kicked.

This may be provider or router problem. I just turn on VPN and this problem fixed.
