Now.... When i am in a game my ping will go from 32 to 1322 about every other second. with this kind of connection WALKING is hard enough god forbid i hit the shift key and teleport back and forth all over the map. (rubber banding) The connection icon on screen is constantly yellow or red, and i know its not me. this has ZERO to do with my end. i can play Ark of all games on max settings with relatively little lag. I can play squads, pubg, fortnite, call of duty, destiny, battlefield, literally ANY other game and not have these issues. Heres the real kicker to all of this, its NOT just on PC that im having this issue. (although it seems R6 on PC is the bane of my existence as i have had NOTHING but problems since i bought it.) on PS4 and XBOX this game does EXACTLY the same thing. ping shoots back and forth non-stop and makes almost EVERY match unplayable.
The Texas based server either has something wrong with it, it has bad/conflicting files, or some kind of magical micky mouse mystery requires the scooby doo gang to go figure it out. either way i have invested a considerable amount into the Rainbow Six / Tom Clancy series and trust me when i say that this is a "ubisoft" problem not a "me" problem. I have tried EVERY Faq section on the ubi website, i have scrolled through 10,000 steam posts to find anyone with a fix. i've uninstalled and reinstalled, and through complete trial and error i found settings that actually keep the game from crashing. now that its not crashing all of a sudden i have connection issues with the servers. sometimes i wonder if the dev team is just purposly screwing with me to see how much more crap i will put up with before i snap.
All I can really recommend if you've tried all of the connectivity stuff is to contact your ISP directly to see if there is anything causing this to happen. Especially as it just seems to be with R6S. If you are tired of trying to figure it out I understand though.

Thank you for responding again, I have checked with my ISP and even had a very long detailed discusion about throtteling and how it would be a breach of our legal agreement in the event that they are indeed throttling my connection. (i pay for premium services and expect nothing less than the value i pay for) The very first thing i did was check all router and modem settings to make sure that none of those things effect the ping or connection to the server. I have even gone a step further and used multiple routers and modems to see if the hardware was an issue. again, none of those things appear to be an issue. the only 2 alternatives to it being a server issue is
A. i have completely lost my mind and i am halucinating everything. <- someone would have noticed by now.
B. my ISP is lying to me and will need to be sent some legal papers to put them back in their place. <- i doubt they would because no one enjoys being on the receiving end of a class action lawsuit.
Aside from hiring someone to completely reverse enginer this game and give me an answer i have already done everything within my abilities to get this game running and up to snuff. there is nothing I can do that I have not already done.
For gamers from Québec; it's pretty much frustrating because we paid big money to Ubisoft Studio Québec and Montréal but we can't play the multiplayers games they made because we are too far from the main server who had a decent player base. Not to mention we paid to create jobs in the video industrie in Québec but in the end; Québec's Studio hire more strangers than local. So we paid for strangers jobs who create games with our money which we can't play. Like For Honors and R6S.
That's really sad.
That said; we saw big changes in the Ubisoft directions from the past months. Maybe the failure of For Honor will force some changes in the mentallity of the Ubisoft studio and the Québec citizens who blindly invest millions into their games without jobs for long time Québec residents artists.
nothing anyone can do, its their servers and the game. like most games these days they are not friendly with certain hardware and for whatever reason every time they do an update to the engine or game files it does weird things like reading duplicate files, reading older versions of files while also reading new files, or it breaks the location data that it should be sending and receiving.
2 things you can try.
1. completely uninstall the game and manually make sure the R6 directory is deleted. then reinstall the game fresh.
2. see if you can find a game server to ping and see what the latency looks like. I think they either rent servers from rack space or Microsoft or maybe both.
Either way it may not solve your problems but you can give it a shot. If nothing else works your only option left is to uninstall and leave a bad review.
Hey I’ve been playing with the same issue for the past month now after just buying a new pc. I’ve had 150-200ms in games. When I used to play back in 2017-2021 I would not get any lag and play find. I’ve been looking everywhere for solutions and can’t find how to fix it. Have you resolved this issue yet?
i fixed the issue by reformatting my computer (reinstall/reset windows).
Finally i can play r6 at peace
