Uplay overlay not working.

Whenever I press shift+F2 to open the Uplay overlay, the game freezes until I press escape. I can still click things in the invisible overlay it thinks it's showing, but I can't see any of it. I've tried contacting Ubisoft, I've tried disabling and re-enabling the overlay, I've tried restarting Uplay, I've tried logging out and back in, I've tried clicking everything that would force open the overlay but nothing works. I can't play with friends because I don't recieve any invites nor can I give any and it's irritating. Any help?

Yep, it was "invisible" like that for two days, then it was fine yesterday, now it's gone again. Maybe there's something that can be done to avoid it.

Try launching Uplay separately before launching R6 from Steam, seems like this fixed it for me.

Go to display settings, change your display mode to "windowed", wait for your screen to adjust, and then try pressing shift+f2. If it works go back to your preferred display mode and it should work fine for this session.

Problem is, it's only a workaround. You'll have to do this every time you restart the game. It's the only thing that worked for me though and believe me I've tried everything short of reinstalling windows.

I guess we'll have to wait for Ubi to patch it, which could be tomorrow, or it could be in 2 years.

tried playing far cry 5 with a friend, they can't open the Uplay overlay or connect to my game...this service is a dumpster fire. ♥♥♥♥ YOU UBISOFT!!!!!!
