Error code 8-0x00000054

Every time I open siege the screen is stuck at the 'please wait connecting to servers' message and once it finally FAILS to connect it shows the above mentioned error code. It takes nearly 4 hours of repeated tries to finally get to the main screen.Fix your ♥♥♥♥ ubisoft.

i have the same problem but cant get in after repeated tries. Any help?

There were some solutions I saw which might help you but didn't work for me
1. Restart router
2.Wait for a few hours or even days
3.Change the datacentehint by going to Documents>My games>Rainbow six siege and opening the text and scrolling to the bottom, then set the server from default to whatever you are playing near.( I tried it but siege crashed and froze completely, so i had to force shut down)
4.If you can get to the main menu but it still says connecting, you can try to force it connect by sending invites or checking your profile etc
5. Reset ports

Here's the solution that worked for me, go to documents>my games>rainbow six siege>the game file text and then scroll to the bottom, the last line you see will be 'UsedProxyDiscovery' or something like that, change the 0 to 1 and two lines above change the 'DataCenterHint=default' to whatever server you play on, hopefully this helps :)
