Possible Solutions to Not Being Able to Buy R6 Credits In Game
If you don't want to read the intro, skip to the notice and read from there!

Intro
Hey people, over the past month or so I have been experiencing a problem with not being able to buy R6 Credits from the in game currency packs store through my wallet.

I don't know why this happens, but it really began in the beginning of January, when I tried buying credits with money I've added to my steam wallet through gift cards.

I've even sent a support ticket to Ubisoft Support for Rainbow Six Siege, and they've told me to wait until they personally email a response for a possible solution. Since they've said that, I haven't actually gotten a response.

Regardless, over the past month I have discovered several solutions to the problem that didn't work for me but others claim have worked for them. I hope they work for you, and if you have your own solutions feel free to reply with them.

I've been facing the exact same problem for a good month or so now. I sent a support ticket to Ubi and they said they would personally message me when they have a solution. If you can't guess it by now, I haven't gotten a solution.

However, in the month that I have been facing the problem I discovered several solutions that didn't work for me but worked for other people.

Notice:
These solutions only really apply to people who are buying R6 Credits with money through their steam wallet, as that's where the problem arises for many.

Before you use my solutions...
I highly recommend you make a case at Ubisoft support for the game before testing out my solutions. They usually will respond within 24 hours, if it's a work day.
You can find the page to make a case here[support.ubi.com]

Also, there isn't really a specific order you should do these solutions. Just try what you can, if one doesn't work feel free to do another.

Solution 1
Delete steam browser cache.
Navigate to Steam → Settings
In the Settings Menu find "Web Browser"
"Delete browser cache" → OK

After doing this, launch Siege and try to buy credits. If it does not work, relaunch Siege and try it 1 more time. If it doesn't work then, try another solution.

Solution 2
Change Uplay and Steam settings to require being ran as administrators, restart your PC, open Uplay and Steam as admins, play Siege, and attempt to buy something from the store, like R6 credits.

Solution 3
Shut off absolutely everything connected to your PC (i.e. surge protector, perhaps router as well), wait at least a few hours, turn everything back on, and try to buy R6 credits.

Solution 4
If you added funds to your Steam Wallet through a debit or credit card of some sort, wait for your bank to "register the transaction" before trying to purchase credits* (this could take a few to several hours)

This solution doesn't apply to me because I bought Steam money through gift cards

Solution 5
Wait 48+ hours (2 entire days) without attempting to buy ANY form of R6 Credits, then after the 48 hour period is over attempt to buy R6 credits.

I hope at least one of these helps! :steamhappy:

I don't usually leave comments on the communities to be off-the-grid myself but I've seen your sincere will to solve this problem and detailed possible solutions. As you said above, one of them actually helped others and I'm impressed. I have a solution. Though I'm not sure if we can call it a solution, it actually worked for me and my friends. I want to let you know my solution personally and ask something. I got the same problem as you through the whole month of January and tried lots of possible solutions in the web and none of them worked for me. UBI support is just giving us meaningless answers like wait for 48 hours without any attempt to buy or remove game cache. If we answer back that none of these worked, then they just ignore or say something like this "Our technical team is investigating on this issue.", "We have passed your ticket on to the correct department for investigating." And no reply forever as you may already know.

So what is your solution on question? I couldn't see it in your comment. Also, I do thank you for your sympathy. All of the solutions above I have posted worked for others but not for me, so if you do want to post your solution or message me it, that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry. After I left my first comment, I couldn't find this article. I've added you. I will chat you the solution. If the conversation is done, you can remove me. It's my only hope so far and I don't want to let UBI technical team know this. That's why I'm trying to contact you personally.

Hey there guys,

The matter regarding purchasing credits is something that has been under investigation with the team

We have had reports of players now being able to make purchases again as normal, can you please confirm if this is the case for you too?

Thank you!

I had this issue until today. Some of you might already have this enabled however I did not and once I enabled it, it worked for me. Go to steam and then steam settings- go to the in game tab- and then enable the steam overlay while in game. Re-open R6 and try to make a purchase through steam the overlay should pop up and allow you to purchase whatever in game item you have been wanting.

Same problem since a few years, just dont buy credits and dont support that ♥♥♥♥ company they dont deserve this, they dont even read my ticket message properly, they keep saying wait 48 hours and try again its been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over 4 years
Kontak Feb 6, 2024 @ 6:31am
they dont want steam to cut 40% of the money so they always try to redirect you to their website so you can buy credits and they can keep 100% of the money
