dont have vulkan option

tried restarting steam, uplay, pc . still nothing and no the .exe doesnt uses vulkan

I tried it, unfortunately doesn't work for me for some reason.

Is it supposed to bring up that steam selection of api options?

I got that option but R6S didn't launch at all.
Steams displays R6S running but it isn't.

Most people with this problem more than likely have the old Starter Edition. It's a bug right now. The only fix was provided earlier (renaming the original Rainbowsix.exe to RainbowSixBACKUP.exe and the RainbowSix_Vulkan.exe to RainbowSix.exe.) Simply clicking on the RainbowSix_Vulkan.exe doesn't work, at least it didn't for me, but renaming it worked.

You can tell you're on Vulkan if you see optimizing shaders on the RainbowSix card that appears quickly before going full screen, or if you have the Adaptive Render Scaling Target FPS option in the graphics settings. It's under the Anti-Aliasing option.

had this issue, just verify your game files. it should give you the popup when you launch the game. also gave me an uninstall battleye popup and i clicked yes to uninstall and then it reinstalls it. not sure if its dependant on that tho

This will be a simple instruction to open R6 with vulkan every time! First you will have to right click the R6 game in your library.
2. Then click on properties at the bottom of the tab selections
3. Then click on local files at the top of the tab selections
4. After that you will have to scroll down the R6 dedicated folder until you see RainbowSix_Vulkan application that is the program they implemented but seems to not want to activate on most users pc "such as mine XD" Double click it and you will have the game launch and if you own a copy threw steam it will also bring up Overlay. Ubisoft users can do the same as above but will have to find the local dedicated save of R6 in there files and there should also be the same Application as stated above

Hope this helps with some ppl still having issues with it saving Vulkan only option.

Im not having any issues anymore when launching it from Steam Library it now ask's me if I want either option of Orginal R6 or Vulkan
