Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

R6 changes my refresh rate EVERY time i close the game.
I own a 144hz display, with (up to date drivers) RX 580 and the game is set to run at 144hz (and it does). But whenever i close the game something happens to my refresh rate that it gets worse than 60HZ(i have compared).
Temporary fix: I start Overwatch and close it. It fixes it every time, while even changing the refresh rate of the monitor and changing back doesnt.
Is anyone familiar with this issue? Or have a clue what could be causing it?
PS: In the meantime ive had this, i have clean installed multiple versions of my GPU drivers.

It does seem to be the case, yes.

There's been some reports of issues with Freesync, so I believe it doesn't work with the game at the moment.

Hey,

Sorry to hear your refresh rate keeps dropping.

You may need to delete the game settings.ini file, you can find this here: C:\Users<user>\Documents\My Games\Rainbow Six - Siege<UplayID>\GameSettings.ini

Once you relaunch the game it will automatically create a new .ini file.

Although you may wish to verify your game files on Steam after deleting the .ini file / before launching the game.

You can do this by:
-Right clicking on the game in your library
-Selecting Properties
-Select Local files
-Select verify integrity of game files

If there's anything else we can help with, give us a shout.

It fixed it for the first time, then next time i opened the game, and the time after had the issue again : / Any other possible fixes? I did every step

edit: Just found out that disabling FreeSync fixed it, but this issue seems to only happen on Rainbow 6. Could it be a FreeSync support issue?
