Game sound won't run through headphones but voice chat output will

Since the Para Bellum update once I enter a match the game sound cuts from my headphones to my computer speakers. Menu is coming through fine but immediately entering any type of match the sound runs through my computer speakers. BUT voice chat from other players comes through my headphones. However, when I use voice chat, my voice is picked up from my computers external mic instead of my headphone mic? Color me confused. Anyone have this issue or a solution for it? On top of this my game is now crashing pretty much everytime I open the game whether I'm playing or not. Feels like I'm just gonna have to stop playing at this point.

The first thing we'd advise is making sure that you have set your headset is set as the Default Communication Device in the Sound settings.

Please also head to the Privacy settings for your PC and make sure you headphones can be used by Programs and Apps. Microsoft made a change recently to the Privacy settings and sometimes it blocks access.

For the crashing do you get an error message and if so what does the message state?
