Huge lag all of a sudden
Hello.

I've been playing R6 for about 3 months with my settings on high and never had experienced any lag. After spending a few days without playing it, I came back to see a huge lag on my gameplay. It says it's hardware related and my internet is fine. I've tried setting everything to low and it didn't change much. I have a decent computer and was able to run it on high without any issues for months so I have no idea what's happening.

After looking at a few forum posts, I tried some solutions like changing the buffer size and putting v-sync on through nVidia's game profile but nothing worked. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

By the way, I'm running the game on a GTX 970 and a i5 4690k with 8GB Ram at 1600Mhz.

Thank you for reporting this to us.

Have you tried Disabling the Fullscreen Optimization? This was something added by Microsoft and it's caused some lag issues for players. You can turn it off by heading to the .exe file in your Steam directory, right click it, select Properties, Compatibility and select to 'Disable fullscreen optimizations'.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried that and unfortunately the problem remains. It's so bad the game became unplayable :(

Managed to get it working, finally. I went to nVidia's control pannel and swtiched from prioritizing quality to performance. Also, I reseted all settings for the R6 profile. It's even faster than before now.

Glad to see everything is back to normal, well better than before :)

Where did you find that setting?

Sorry about the delay. Those configurations are in nVidia's control pannel, in the first page of 3D settings.

However, I experienced this lag again a few days after I thought I had fixed it. Eventually I found out what the real problem was: I had an Asrock Fatality Z97 Killer motherboard, which comes with Atheros Killer LAN. This LAN driver and app were causing a huge memory leak. Uninstalling it and using Windows default drivers fixed the issue for me.
