Are the game files on the same drive as Steam? Have you moved them at any point or are they on an external drive?
- Ubisoft Support
Yes all files were on the same drive and folder. They were not moved at any point.
I did solve this issue however. When Steam downloads a game it checks if there are other files pertaining to that game already on the PC to prevent overlapping. I thought this was great but realized that I cant hit install to allow steam to see the files are there because it wasnt reading that there was enough space to download all ~50GB again, which there wasn't. So I deleted about half the Rainbow Six Siege files to make room, and steam let me click instal. It detected the half and downloaded the rest. At this point, it still took a while (about 2 hours). A nice fix would be if the Steam Devs were to allow an option to see if there is a game already installed on a users computer even if it is labeling it as uninstalled.. There is the 'Verify Game Files' option however this only works when the game is seen as installed. I do not believe that this is a problem on Ubisoft's end as a quick google search will bring up several forum posts about people losing steam games over night while still having the files for them.
Thank you for your response UbiHolz.

Hello again! The same issue has repeated itself! Rainbow Six Siege is again not registered as installed even though the files are there. It again happened right after shutting down my computer for the night and then turning it back on in the morning. I am hoping that this will not become a recurring problem. Im going to move the files to my D: drive which has enough space to reinstall (even though it will detect the files and not have to install anything anyway.). If this is an issue with Steam, they should be notified, because if this happens to players with less than fast internet and they have to constantly reinstall, it could take them over a day to re-download files. Have you seen anyone else on the steam forums having this problem before?
Hey,
No i've personally not seen this issue before. Can you please update the thread if it happens again with your D: drive.
- Ubisoft Support Team
Side note: I have a slow internet connection, so I would rather not spend all day uninstalling and reinstalling.
These can help with this issue, as it can happen quite commonly on Siege.

Thank You For Any Solutions
If you find the directory where you installed the game, are no files showing up there at all? If that's the case then I would suggest just re-installing Siege.

D:
Have you re-installed Siege?

Hey there. It's been a while but I'd like to let you know this has still happened recently to me as well. I flat out deleted the game off my PC because I was sick of deleting the files and reinstalling, since you cannot verify integrity if the game files on steam if it doesn't recognized it as installed.
