My friend figured out that the connection error was related to the german servers.
So you can fix it i you go into your Documents - My Games - Rainbow Six-Siege. There will appear 5 folders inwich you all have to change he "DataCenterHint" to the east US or something else. You can do that in each folder if you scroll completely down to end of the Text file.
just change it from default to some other servers except europe.

100% fix for me

I have the same problem. Seems like a server problem, but also doesn't, and it infuriates me.

I've tried:
Restarting (obviously)
Reïnstalling
Checked the firewall
Running the game without firewall
Changing DNS
Clearing Uplay cache
Starting the game through Uplay with no interference of Steam

Nothing worked. Also haven' gotten a response from Ubi yet so that's fun... It seems like a weird server-side thing, but on the other hand; my friends have been able to play just fine so then you'd think it WOULDN'T be a server-side thing... If I fix it I'll let you know.

I Have the same Problem, it's 100% not a connection problem. It is worse. I signed into my friends Smurf Acc and i could connect and play and everything was fine. My friend then signed into my acc and had the same problem...

So it is an Account problem or something along those lines

I just restarted the game and it worked fine. That was my fix.

From the reports we've seen, such as FighteR it does seem like this may be on the account side.

Do any of you have other accounts you could try if you are still seeing this on your main account?

Yeah same having issue, can’t be a ban because I never break rules, once or twice I’ll put a word that not allowed but most of time it’s a word of no offence, I don’t know why some are blocked and some aren’t. But either way it’s a pain, I get no errors, Ubisoft person have you found a fix or a reason, because I’m about to buy the game again,

I just tried with my alt account and it worked! I can now connect to the servers on my alt account. My main still does not work and it has all of my progress.

I tested this. i can enter game from my friend account (his steam proff https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198153502063/)
but i cant enter game from my account ;(

@UbiBaron I am being told on Ubisoft support to complete a series of tasks regarding startups and services. I completed these with no progress on my case. My alternate account still works fine.
