Downgrade of Rainbow 6 (Game crash reports)

Hello everyone!

At first I would like to say

Thank you ubisoft for ruining a working game.

Moving on...

Game now crashes when:

Starting a game -> on loading screen
Loading casual match
Doing nothing and staying in menu
Opening uplay overlay
Opening steam overlay
Playing casual match
Going back to menu after match

So pretty much all the time.


Feel free to post below if your game crashed too I believe that I am not the only one...


My personal experience

//Unplayable - game crashed more than 10 times in first 1 hour not a great experience
I am not the only one - my friends did experience the same issues
Game often freezes to a point where it wont respond and you cannot even alt tab out of it

Last time I tried to start the game my whole PC was frozen not just a game but a whole PC! I do not really care when it is just a game you can restart it but whole PC? Man.. that is something
-> honestly what is the point of test servers if you release something like this?

i dont think so, every time i delete the test server it takes battleye with it, so when i launch the actual game it tells me something about some ToS or whatever

i had times where i decided to skip this step and it ended up fixing some of my problems in this game

things happen, the driver you have installed could have a little bug in it thats causing these issues which is why people say if something isnt wrong with your current driver dont update it since they can bring new issues

out of all of these things this is the one i suspect the most

countless times has updating windows made my games have issues with stuttering, lagging, and stability
im gonna update my windows tonight and see if i get the same problems tomorrow
you could try reverting windows if you like, but i would just wait for a fix from microsoft/ubisoft since microsoft probably brought important security updates

Yeah I think the windows update might play its role in this whole crashing party, but the game did run without crashing before the update today so who knows thanks for your opinions

Same happens to me game freezes completly but i can still listen to the sound and talk ingame but i cant do anything else. Alt tab, task manager, alt f4 did nothing and ctrl+alt+delete didnt help since you could not bring the task manager on the front. Thank god for the best addition windows 10 had, the new screen option. I was able to create one and terminate it from that task manager.

Honestly since i had both a windows update and the siege update today it might be either the cause of the problem. Personally i think its just R6 that its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ since i played some other games fine before running siege.

some windows updates ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my csgo but kept my siege fine while some updates ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my siege and kept csgo fine
though siege can get unstable with every major update its gonna be hard to tell whether it was windows or ubisofts fault until we get the same report from people with this same issue that hasnt updated their windows, which i havent crashed so far which makes me lean toward microsoft being at fault, i will see tomorrow

Make sure you all put in a ticket for the crashes so they fix it quick. support ticket really helps they will fix it immediately.

by the way those who are saying its your computer get better ones. how about being supportive. if your gonna write negative comments take it somewhere else.

This pretty much proves it, exactly the same thing happened to me. The first time it froze like yours did at the last round of a game and had to close it from task manager. And when i launched again since i got an abandon i was waiting and tried to collect my rewards, on the second collect i clicked it froze again. Exactly the same, personally i will stay away until it gets fixed the only bummer is that i just used a 7 booster, not that i care much but its annoying.

And its rare for windows to cause a game to crash, mostly they cause performance issues or soft crashes but freezes like this one, its rare. Anyway i will try again in 1-2 days to see if it got fixed, i dont feel like playing ranked with the possibility of getting abandons. Also this crash explains why during my first 4 ranked games there were so many leavers that were reconnecting 1-2 rounds later or not at all. I thought it was just because of the new season but i doubt it now.

Same problem here. Before this update game worked fine. Now i already got 2 crashes, during the game and after opening Ubi overlay, so ty ubi.

Well maybe its the overlay the issue here, even tho i dont remember opening it ,during my first session at all, and yet it crashed so it might be something else too. Anyway until they adress it, i will wait.

a lot more common than you think there has been many cases where windows 10 updates seemed to have caused games to crash, especially with the creators update
im playing the game without the updated windows and i didnt have any issues, im gonna update windows tonight and tomorrow i will see if i start crashing which would very clearly tell us the windows 10 update did something
that or i get lucky and it keeps working like normal as it seems with a lot of windows 10 updates

Well i just dont think thats the case, since i havent had an issue with w10 updates ever since the first year of release. But i guess we will see hopefully you wont have any issues.

Game crashed already 5 times after the patch, happened when joining a game, closing the reward window, going back to menu after a game, very nice.

Also bugs, just had a game where while "shutting down" dokkaebis call, the operator holds the phone sideways and IQ's LMG still shows to have 50 bullet mag.
