game keeps freezing then crashing
like 20 seconds after picking class, game starts. im in setup, then it just freezes. I can hear things for a few seconds after crashing, but then the game stops and they ask me to send a crash report.
specs:
intel i7 6700
rx 480
if you want anything else just ask i want to fix the game i paid full price for

Same thing! sometimes it freezes in operator screen and sometimes when the game starts, I've deleted the files in Steam: Steam\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege\sounddata\pc as someone suggested but that didnt work

nvm i had changed the hard disk letter earlier and didnt restart my pc, somehow that caused it to crash

Hey, i think that works for me! I have been trying to fix the crashes for five months ago, until now. Thank you so much!!

This used to happen to me. I simply disabled Uplay overlay and cloud sync and also ran the game in win 7 compatibility mode and it doesnt crash anymore

sorry this is late, but what do you mean by 50%, I can't see my normal page file, and i don't want to mess with it too much
I have a fix/work around.

I worked closely with the developers to debug this issue. The fix is the following and most people won't like it.

TURN ALL GRAPHIC PRESETS TO LOW.

Seriously that is the fix. I have a RTX 2070 card and for some reason, the game does not like that card. If you turn all graphics to low it will not crash.

If the game does crash on low. Then you would need to completely re-install C++ drivers and update to latest graphic drivers. Same for windows. You must update to latest version to fix.

I'm also sorry to hear that your game is crashing.

If this is still the case could you take a look at the PC troubleshooting in the link below and go through any of the steps you may not have tried, then try again:

However, if the issue persists I would recommend trying each of the following:

- Ensure your game is running on a dedicated GPU rather than an integrated GPU - https://ubi.li/q0hCX

- Add the game to the white list of your anti virus software
- Launch the game in Windows compatibility mode if you are using Windows 11 - https://ubi.li/h0VCZ

- Unplug non-essential peripherals (extra monitors, controllers, VR equipment, etc.)
