Game freezes randomly
My game freezes randomly after the ember rise update and I've seen it's been happening to a few others. I've updated graphics card drivers and I'm updating windows right now. Whenever it freezes, I can't alt f4 or open task manager or close the window. Just wanted to check and see if anyone has found the solution to this problem yet. I'll update back if windows update fixes the problem.

Edit: Seems to have been fixed for me in the latest patches.

Same for me. Freezes on loading screen during matches. At first I thought it was because I was running an autohotkey macro to auto-fish in minecraft while I was playing. Now I see it does it regardless. At first I had to restart my computer to even close the game since the task manager window would never be brought to the top and alt-f4 didn't work, but now I have task manager's default location on a second monitor.

i7 cpu, 1080ti gpu, 32 gb ram, ssd for os and game.

plenty of space left on ssd with game and os.

total cpu usage after it freezes is around 10% max.

Edit: If Vendor matters, it's an Asus Strix gpu and an Alienware monitor. I've had some issues with monitor drivers in the past. So much fun, computers are...

Edit2: 1080ti strix oc with auto BIOS overclock

Been playing since Dust Line and never had issues with freezing until now. Happens every time I play the game. Sometimes within minutes, other times within an hour or so. My computer is fairly high end so I don't think it's performance related.

i7-6700k, 980ti gpu, 32gb RAM, on a 1TB ssd.

Same here, game runs fine at 100 fps in almost ultra, i have 8gb of ram too, i have a tool called sidebar diagnostic and ram is fine and i always have 4 gb free so its clearly not my ram.

Doesn't matter the PC spec you have, the game freezes & crash. Ubisoft needs to fix that.

Same to me. Ryzen 5 2600 16 GB RAM. Freezes and crashes at random points.

Hello all. My game is running now. I think my computer may have had some heating problems with the graphics card but I'm not 100% positive thats what caused the freezing. BUT now my game works. It still will freeze whenever I try to collect weekly challenges and it does the same for others that ive played with also. This is what worked for me, not sure if it will for anyone else. I hope everyone gets their games fixed I know how frustrating it can be. Ubisoft support replied back to my email within the same night but my game was running smoothly right before they got back to me. Go to their support if you still have issues. Deuces

does that mean this game pushes graphic cards to overheating or do you own a weak one? but since your not the only one with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and many have pretty potent graphic cards leads to the conclusion baguettesoft ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up.

claps... thank you baguettesoft joined again after almost 8 month just to get some random crashes.

Hello all, if you have a 20 series graphics card make sure you use the Vulkan launcher as thats the optimised API.

Hi All,

has anyone solved this yet? i stopped playing siege as this was doing my head in, came back to it yesterday to see if it had been patched out and still the same.

As everyone else my specs should not be an issue, everything is updated, etc etc.

i get to the menu where is says press any button to continue, and then it freezes everytime without fail.

you can close down through task manager but takes a few attempts.

I have tried all sorts off the internet and nothing is sorting this.

Im literally 20 hours shy of 1000 hours in the game so surely this is not a tech issue.

any help is appreciated at this point.

thanks

i found a fix to this. When you use amd deactivate ULPS in the registry. ULPS is Ultra Low Power State that turns on mid game and because of that R6 was unplayable to me it crashing mid game everytime. When i found this german fix from someone it fixed it.
Here i translated it online.

How do I deactivate ULPS?

This guide works on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10!
I am not responsible for any damage to the system! So make a backup beforehand!

Go to the registry, the easiest way to get there is:
Press [Windows key] + [R] to open the run window and enter "regedit" (without quotation marks) and confirm with Enter.

If you press [CTRL] + [F] in the registry window to go to the search, make sure that the "Keys", "Values" and "Data" checkboxes are checked in the search options and enter "EnableUlps" without quotation marks in the search field a.
Confirm with Enter and wait a while, the search process may take a while.

Now double click on the entry "EnableUlps" in the right part of the window and set the value to 0
Repeat the search process with F3 and set all entries that the search finds to the value 0

Caution: Do not set the "EnableUlps_NA" entry to 0!

Unfortunately, this value is reset to 1 with every driver installation, so you have to reset this value to 0 after every installation of the Radeon Suite.
