Voice and text chat false report abuse observation
Been reading discussions and checking ingame. Unless this is just on my side, unless you actually use voice or chat ingame, your team can't report you for either of the misconduct.

I've tried checking if you could report someone ingame despite them not chatting and the option's blocked. But if you type something, they can also report you for voice abuse. So it seems the report function only activates once you or they type something, otherwise, your own team can only report you for griefing and cheating.

Also tried not saying or typing anything, and didn't get a single hit on my reputation. But when I tried giving callouts via chat, that's when the voice abuse penalty came in. I don't even have a mic on me since I use those cheap earphones that doesn't come with them.

Also an add on, it seems that if you hit an ally accidentally and even if they don't die, your reputation goes down as I accidentally hit the leg of an ally during a firefight and I went down from esteemed to respectable but nothing changed in my other penalties that dropped me down from exemplary.

Just something I observed and share. Also wanted to check if this is just an error on my side or is it an actual feature.

its a feature, went from Exemplary to esteemed in 3 games for only one moment of voice chatting and 2 times in game chat:mhpatchie:

The feature I mean is that the option to report is blocked until they actually say something, which goes for us too.

But yeah, sucks that reputation goes down like heck with just a few reports. What's worse is, if you go down from respectable, the penalties are there, but when you're exemplary, there doesn't seem an add on to anything.

I dont have any comms turned at all and have 5 voice chat reports. Its just being used for toxicity.

That's weird. Normally you can't be reported unless you've chatted a few times already ingame or opened your mic.

Try checking your mic if it has issues. I can't remember exactly, but I think I read in similar discussions that their mic bugged that kept turning it on and off repeatedly that caused the vc report due to "mic abuse".

Also, not sure if being muted by enough players can count as a VC report. Can't test this on my own so you might have to check the other discussions or check the update log to see if you also get penalized if you're muted by your team.

I have gone down to respectable at the start of the season, after playing 1 match. I do not have mic, I didn't type anything in chat, nor did I TK'd or destroyed teammates gadgets. Yet I can see that I am griefing in the game a lot.
I play solo, and rarely use text chat, maybe only to point up some things like we need a breacher or I have spotted a roamer somewhere, etc.
I do not understand what I am doing wrong. Yet someone in my team yells in his mic that I do not deserve the elite skin which I bought for dying against 1 vs 5, does not get penalized.
I was always on exemplary, last season went down to esteemed automatically and this season at the start down to respectable. Either people are abusing the system or the reputation system is broken or maybe both.

It seems you are right before it was allowing reports for voice and chat even when not chating or using mic but it seems now it is fix atleast for me, idk maybe the r6 community is just that toxic but giving callouts is not mic abuse nor is says gj for a kill but yet those still go towards mic abuse

They need to put simple checks in place and it would help alot you cant say hi in game now adays without a report its kinda depressing its supposed to be a team game but you cant chat or use mic at all

Yeah they should. But the main problem is they'd probably automate it which kinda in a sense ends up more toxic and inconvenient. I remember a game I was playing that if you mention a certain character's name (note that they themselves put the character ingame), you could get banned since it's an automated message censoring measure they put in their game. The character was a sort of hot topic ingame to the references it made in its design and the devs didn't like how the character was being compared to a certain country I think.

Now I can imagine Ubi might not be able to implement something so well, especially since we players can get quite creative with our insults that we could bypass such limitations.

again as i said simple checks. See if player even used a mic, see if player even chated, if griefing is reported maybe have a department like idk halo 3 did for that? if they even tried to make the system work instead of releasing 30 more skins to make money maybe we would be getting somewhere....

There are simple checks as far as I've observed. If you haven't chatted at all or simply said 1 word only throughout the entire match, you can't be reported for chat abuse. Also the same for Voice chat. Though there is according to some users, a bug, where their mics are turning on and off which allows people to report them for voice abuse. Also, this is just assumption, but getting muted, despite you not saying anything, can result into a voice chat penalty, though this is only according to some users in the discussions where they find out that they are muted ingame and can't use their mics but they don't have any penalty on them.

The only thing they can report you is with griefing and cheating. And griefing penalty isn't immediately seen or reflected compared to chat and voice penalty unless the game thinks you really are griefing, for example like hitting your allies or destroying gadgets.
