Losing RP to cheater teammates?

Just a general discussion wondering if you all think it's fair for someone to lose RP if a previous match had a cheating teammate, but you solo-queued and had no say in choosing in that teammate?

Yeah but I feel like you should lose the same amount as if you lost the match instead of losing 30-40 like I have. But I still feel iffy about it.

lose games in silver back to bronze
lose even more rp because the cheaters just got banned

that means that there were several games with cheater teamate, coz u are losing same amount as if you lost the match
